Hi guys, I just recently passed my class 1 licence and will be starting to drive a lorry in next two weeks. There are so many Sat Navs on ebay that I thought I would ask which Sat Nav would you recommend me to buy? Thanks for feedback,
I use Snooper S7000,it is now upgraded to the 8000.
Mine has a great tv,freeview, about 100 channels.
The picture is excellent.
Enter up to 16 multi drops.Adr routing.Road closure information and accidents to avoid.
Bluetooth to pair up with a mobile to be hands free.
They sell them at most motorway areas and ask for a discount at Phonebitz.
I would not drive a truck with a car sat nav.
Why just use your smartphone cheeper option
buy a map ,learn the road network .
buy a map and learn the road neetwork one with brigde heights.dont trust sat navs.
Or use the search facility and find a myriad of pages on this subject.
And post it in the correct forum.
Ken.
I’ve got a Garmin 560lt.
It’s ok up to a point.
Will send you miles on a stupid route to avoid a weight limit.
I use it wit a large scale A to Z map.
Avoided all low bridges so far.
Tried to send me in a weight limit twice in 4 months.
Good but I wouldn’t use it on its own.

spot on
When you buy one of these map things, do you get a USB plug to go online and update them?
Usually yes, but do as some of the others have said, and buy a map as well, and learn the road network as a back up.
Sat navs are not 100% foolproof, and can get you into difficulties, so don’t rely on it totally.
There are some good units out there, Tom Tom 5150, Snooper S series, Garmin etc etc, but they all have faults of some kind, and at the end of the day, it’s down to personal choice and budget.
Ken.
I think you missed my point mate, was saying do you get a USB plug with a map
No I don’t think you do. Map updates are usually a download to your PC, then using the software that came with the sat nav
to connect it to your PC, to update the maps.
Lmao. It seems to be flying over everyone’s head leggate

Only if you buy a USB enabled edition like the one bellow
