Which one? Trucking Satnavs

Which on is the best Trucking SatNav? Snooper, TomTom or TruckTables SatNavs?

The TruckTables SatNav is the Cheapest, but is it as fast, as good mapping , tracking and location finding? as the more expensive Snooper and TomTom versions?

what are the pros and cons of the Snooper and the TomTom?

Looked on YouTube as still can’t workout which one to get

I have the truck tables and the tomtom I’m selling the truck tables one, but only cos it’s too big and takes up half the window in my dinky little truck and it’s easy to move between the other lorries as they all have tomtom mounts in already

The tomtom is very slow and unresponsive, plus it has a plethora of warnings you must click through every time you change destination, winds me right up.

There is nothing wrong with the truck tables except it doesn’t do live traffic. It can get a little laggy at times, but it’s not bad, the tomtom is worse.

Plus the truck tables one has extra stuff on it because it runs via windows CE.

Just got my first ever satnav from Trucktables and I have to say I’m well impressed with it. As it’s my first I can’t compare it with any others but so far it gets me exactly where I want to be and it rescued me from a housing estate the other night after I took wrong turning due to road closure. Only annoying thing I’ve had with it was when it kept constantly telling me that I was in a 7.5 ton weight limit even though I knew because that’s where the drop was.
Overall I think it’s £65 well spent.

i’ve gone for the new garmin Dezl 770, it does everything i need and has great long term support.

TomTom5150 for me…easy to use… still routr check with a paper map though…

I have the snooper s8000 and it’s brilliant the only one downside with it is it is not very loud so if you have the window open or whatever it can be hard to hear but other than that brilliant.

I have never had any problems with the TomTom 5150

If you have an iPad or similar, I would highly recommend getting a screen mount and getting “copilot” truck app around £115 last time I look, fantastic truck sat nav and buy “traffic” for extra £7.99 you will never look back - also when parked up watch tv Ect…

I got the Snooper DB8500 pro just after Christmas and only had it about 3 days before I sent it back. I’ve now got a TomTom 5250pro and to be honest with you, it’s not all that much better.

Out of interest what was wrong with them?

The first thing the snooper did was try to take me down a 7 1/2 tonne weight limit and the route planning was seemed to take me miles away from the correct route, saying that I liked the set-up and large screen. The tomtom is okay but not bulletproof, the one thing that lets it down is the lack of customer support for the pro versions.

Just completed my first week using the trucktables satnav and can’t fault it. Couldn’t afford the tomtom 5150 and so opted for this to see me through my first class 1 job as a bit of back up. Thought it was worth a go as all reviews i’ve read were positive plus i emailed Chris via ebay with a few questions about the device to which he got straight back to me. I’m well chuffed. Nice bargain.

Any problems or niggles with the trucktable device…

Would be good to know how it compares to the TomTom or Snooper…
