Yes i know it’s all been done before and by me a couple of years ago and never did get one but now i really do want to get one but not too keen on paying much more than about £60 for one, idealy one that just fits onto the windscreen easily as i drive different wagons each day, and one that is simple to use, we do have company forward facing cameras fitted but wanted my own to play with.

I paid Halfrauds £79 plus cost of sd card for a hd one with gps, happy with it so far …
Is it a nextbase ?
I got a next base for xmas and it does what it says on the tin . Easy and firm sucker fitting and mine has a 16gig memory card ( courtesy of my son ) plugs into 12v socket .
We have 4 running in the various family cars, so far all trouble free, reasonable size, fair price but not cheap, easy to operate even for a technophope like i.
Thanks for all the info so far, a nextbase from Halfords sounds good as it would be simple to return if and when it packs up and Maplins do a good selection also .
I bought 2 x G1Ws off ebay, they both packed up 13 months later!!
I bought a Nextbase from Currys, had to return it; then had to return the replacement. Then bought a Transcend, 2 actually, and both still running, no problems.
If you’ve already got a decent phone holder then you can download a free app for your phone. The one I’ve got records 2 min blocks and saves the last 10 or 20 or so in a temp folder. If the phone detects a knock then it auto saves to a permanent folder or you can touch the screen to save.

Try ebay, I got one for my truck for $40.00 and it works great, although I have to get my missus to download the records LOL.
I also bought one for the jeep on line, I think I got that one on Amazon for $35.00 and it’s better than the truck one.

Just brought this little one…google.co.uk/search?q=ring+ … I8QQ…got it from Screwfix as they’re 5 minutes down the road so easy to take back when it packs up.
I’ll let you know how it performs in due course.
I’ve got through quite a few dashcams - you definitely get what you pay for. The £50 area is normally where they’re either cheap rubbish that lasts 5 minutes, or cheap rubbish that works OK. If your budget is £60 then spend £60 but don’t be tempted to go lower. There are some good dashcams out there at the £30/40 mark, but there’s so many bad ones out there. I’ve had issues with corrupted files, not being able to retrieve footage, crashing, freezing, etc.
If the £60 is a figure pulled from thin air, you might consider spending a bit more - the pricier ones can combine multiple lenses. I used to have one trained on the road and another at me, so I could prove if there were to be an accident that I wasn’t pratting about on my phone…
Buying one from a shop (like Halfrauds) and not en eBay retailer would be a better bet, as you have a receipt and far easier to bring it back to them if it packs in.
