If you’re going to post Where Am I? photos, for gawd’s sake strip out the location tags! (or edit them to point somewhere completely different, if you’re feeling mischievous). As soon as I look at the photos, my computer helpfully displays a mini-map showing exactly where phone/camera was located, right down to the name of the street.
And yes - a lovely corner of France, where I took my family on our first proper holiday abroad back in 2003

It is Roche Bernard.
I think the bridge you saw being built will be the one on the dual carriageway that now bypasses this one. This one is visible from the new road although Owen’s pictures are taken from the town.
Wikipedia says this one dates from 1960 and the new one from 1995.
