Where is your VTG plate?

Our company have all work carried out by our local dealer. My truck is in for MOT today and I get a call asking where I’ve put the VTG cert.

“It’s a new truck going for first test, you need to get one you dimwits” apparently wasn’t the answer they wanted.

And this from a dealer!

It’s sent to the registered keeper 6-8 weeks after its registered.

As Neversweat said, your firm will have received a two part plating cert not long after they registered the vehicle. One part must be displayed in the vehicle, the other part must be produced when presenting the vehicle for first ( and all subsequent ) MOT tests. It’s different for trailers though. Do you know if the " dimwits " at the dealers have just parked the vehicle up, and are not going to bother with it till they get the correct cert. ?
Regards. John.

Yup, the 'dimwits. knew there was no VTG before presenting it today. MOT now FTA thankfully so it doesn’t go against the OCRS and booked in for Wed’s.

They actually took it to test without one :open_mouth: :unamused:

Double post. Oops

I thought you got a 12 for a missing plate or certificate, although some stations would test the vehicle if one or other of them was shown but then refuse to issue a pass certificate until the missing paperwork was presented.
