Hey all,
im new to these forums, so hope this will be posted in the right place.
The trailer i pull some of the rims have been put on in a way that makes
it imposible to check/inflate the inner tyres. Its taken weeks to finaly get my company to get
a tyre inflater, only for it to fail after 1 wheel, so god knows when we will get another one!.
i know that the pressures need to be increasted, but im still expected to take the trailer out.
what is the best way to tackle this?
Thanks
BH
Take it out and park somewhere with suitable facilities for you, food, drink, toilet and so on. Then try to deflate one of the said tyres, or failing being able to get to an inner tyre an outer will do. Phone in and tell them you think you have a puncture as the tyre has completely gone flat, even text them a photo of the tyre in that condition as conformation of the problem. Wait for the tyre fitter to arrive, while maybe enjoying some light refreshments, and while he is there get him to check the pressure on the others. Sorted.
Keep repeating the above on a regular basis until they decide this is costing them too much and they make alternative arrangements for tyre care and maintenance.
Whilst enjoying said refreshments, you could ask the tyre fitter to put some valve extensions on the valves on the inner wheels, or to refit the outer wheel so that the valves for the two wheels are both accessible.
Both of those methods have worked for me in the past.
