Where did I visit for some cracking scenery and some lunch? If you can guess where I was, you should be able to work out the name of the island about 19 miles in the distance.
Mull of Galloway and Isle of Man ?
Well done. I knew it wouldn’t take long for someone to guess, but I thought it might take a bit longer than 25 mins.[emoji22] Was at the Gallie Craig Coffee shop looking over to the IOM.
I often used to see the view of the IOM with the cloud hanging over it and used the fast going stream seen in your picture to our advantage when rounding the Mull on our way from up north when bound to Workington with logs. Then I measured the distance from the Mull to the IOM and it came up as about 19 so went for it.
Well at least it was an educated guess and not just random guess.[emoji6] [emoji3]
Local knowledge mate, just plain ole local knowledge
Should have known this as it’s in our AOR. Was there last Wednesday. Last drop of the day before the 125 mile 3.5hr nip round the corner back to the yard.

I actually took that picture last year when the weather was better but i was there last week too. I’m sure it was Wednesday i was there. Do you drive a 7.5t DAF freezer truck from the ■■■■■■■ area? I do remember the name but don’t want to put it on here incase you don’t like people knowing who you’re on for.
There about 2-3pm. Miniature 12t LF gas tanker, out of Carlisle but no indication of firm’s Depot on it. Pie truck could have been anybody though.
Had to take a 30 when done, then got held up for ages in Drummore when the farmer brought his cows in. The bugger’s got thousands of 'em!
Ah well it wasn’t you I seen then. Thought you might have been in the pioneer food truck that delivered when I was there. I got held up at Lochans with the same thing. Farmer took what seemed like a thousand cows across the road and it took ages. The joys of the countryside. The road from Drummore to the Mull isn’t the best but the scenery makes up for it.
Some cracking views in this job (anywhere, and I mean absolutely anywhere, within a 100+ mile radius), it makes up for the serious bowel-twitching times during the winter.
