Where are they now?

There are a couple of companies from Felixstowe that I used to see around a lot, but seem to have disappeared recently - first A M Searle, who have lime green Mercs with the phone no on the front of the cab, and the words ‘dock shunting’ on the side? They also have a distribution arm with motors in a turquoise color.

The other one is an Ipswich co., Simon Boon International who used to pull a mixture of curtainsiders and boxes? They had some really nice V8 Scania Toplines.

I hear rumours of VOSA involvement regarding one of these, but I don’t know if they’re still around?

I think Searles went bust late last year. Big expansion plans etc.

You can get one of their pretty recent units second hand. Felixstowe seems to be a haven of fly-by-nights and crap rates.

Cheers. What triggered my post was that I say 2 of their green units today, with a new company logo on them - Ronin Global Services. Obviously been sold on and no resprayed.
