I have spent close on £700 to get my ADR only to be offered £8.50 an hour
I’ve been looking for a perm position in Tanks for the past 4 weeks and all I keep being offered
is Agencies…promising you all the work you want lol… in reality its 2days hear or 1 night there or they don’t need you today…Scary times… (where did all the work go) Surely there has to be some good work out there?
They’ll say what you want to hear till January the 2nd then it’s who are you again?

Can’t you do what my mate does,he’s agency but has a full time,45 hr- tues-sat contract with a company,even wears there uniform.

Depend how they count this shotrtgate.first at Direct.gov.uk some agency give 99 oportunity every day.why.■■?in to many web site -job vacancy dublicated site by site.but some time agency not bad.
Plenty work up here in the north east, my place is looking for class 1 trampers & 4 on 4 off.
There’s work out there just need to know where to look.
There’s sweet fa out there in terms of proper decent work, agy can’t be classed as such. There’s a shortage of mugs willing to work for peanuts or someone somewhere is fuelling this bs in order to lower pay/t&cs-don’t listen to this crap …!

There’s a shortage until they have enough over that required and then there’s a surplus so they can drive the wages down and pay less than what it’s worth.
The NMW is all that most work will ever bring in my opinion. The race to the bottom will be completed in the very near future! 
checkout the biggr companies websites…the likes of wincanton,turners,stobarts…etc…etc,etc…vacancies advertised by agencies are rarely regular hrs…just a day or two here or there…that works for some but not others…
I was speaking to a mate Friday night, he runs the job/yard for a (South coast firm running out of Pawsons yard (near the stockyard). He asked me if I wanted to, or knew anyone wanting tramping work. As they’re looking for 2 trampers.
In the past I did a stint for this firm, but on a different contract, but as most people know working for a mate isn’t a good idea. As I’m predominately a day man, I decided it was better to move on & remain friends with my drinking buddy. If the bleak period gets bad in the new year I may go and do a stint to fill the gap
There IS work out there 'round here, things are definitely picking up & I’m taking into account the usual seasonal trends.
I’m not desperate to leave my current job but I am actively looking, in the last few weeks I’ve seen more quality jobs available than I have in the previous 12mths.
Most firms don’t have the resources to field all of the stoopid enquiries if they put an advert on Jobcentre, so they don’t ! You need to know what’s happening there to understand, but I’m coming across more & more quality, permanent & realistically paid jobs just thru word of mouth.
Where I live pallets are booming, High St multi-drop booming, muck shifters are booming, brick & block are BOOMING.
I’m confidant that any driver in this area could change jobs easily if only they got up off it & knocked on doors.
STOP relying on t’interent to find a job opening, it’s been ruined already by your Guv’mint & the agencies lies.
It’s either regular work for low pay, which they are of course keen to nail you down into, OR sporadic shifts at decent pay. You just need to be sitting tight, thus picking and choosing what you want to do.
I didn’t give up full time for agency just so I could try and go back to working full time WITH agency! If I am going to work 50+ hours in a week now, it’s a plum job with decent enough pay.
That means no skid row yards paying minimum wages 50 miles from where I live. 
Your not going to find a decent job on the internet or job centre
Tell us where you live would be a start, some areas of the country will always be less money/opportunities than others.
It’s usually a case of who you know not what, plenty of work for those in the loop.

I walked into the Jobcentre last December and felt ashamed to be there. Yet there were the Chavs, dossers and other lepers that together showed why we need workhouses brought back, all laughing and joking like they were in a hostel for the terminally useless.
And the Jobcentre’s are not there to look for work, they’re there for those who need to pretend to look for work.
Every haulier i speak to can not get quality drivers
and before you say it they can’t all be crap companys
