I remember that outlook from over 25 years ago, the little industrial estate on the hill, actually the last time I was in Weedon was when we stopped at the petrol station next to the Crossroads hotel to exchange luggage with my Son as we headed to Heathrow to fly home on our last trip.
Something you may find interesting about Weedon ! During the Napoleonic wars it was set to be the refuge for the King and would have been the actual capital of England in case of invasion, in the middle of the village there was a military stronghold with canals leading into it, the place was still there when I lived there but had been converted to small industrial units.
Yes, I am familiar with the Royal Ordnance Depot (or “Weedon Barracks” as it is generally referred to by locals). The old canal is still there inside the depot, and by the road outside you can also just see the portcullis that protected the canal entrance:
