And when politicians use personal insults, they are forced to withdraw the comment, apologise to the speaker & leave the chamber.

The bottom line is that there just aren’t enough Moderators available who have the time required to police the site.
Thus when things get a little hot there is no alternative to lockdown.

Hi jammymut, I’m not a mod, but even mods are subject to the same rules as the rest of us, because they are members too. 
If you look at your post, I think you might find that what you’ve put isn’t actually true mate.

Can you give any instances of the above
I have seen posts & threads locked or moved etc on this site due to rule breaking but I cannot recall any deleted etc for not agreeing with a mods views or opinions…

The quote in question was aimed at me after i asked a serious question to KRANKEE. He or she replied with the above quote then locked it off.
I tried a new post, same subject, this was then deleted!
Tried a third post which was again deleted.
only thing i can think of was that krankee didn,t like the taste of the dummy!
It hit me at 100mph plus.

Posts are not locked because the Admin team disagree with them, they are locked because they break the website rules, repeated spamming of the locked topics are removed, simply because if a topic is locked it is done so for a reason. spamming and making multiple repeat topics on the same subject wont change the reason it was locked.
Jammy has been asked to show where a topic was locked because the moderators disagreed not for rule breaking. and so far has come up with no evidence to support that claim.
We have rules and guidelines on here to stop this forum descending into a quagmire of slanging matches and personal attacks. After a lot of years I still admit our system isnt perfect, but after well over 7 years we are still here, still the most used forum for Uk truck drivers, and still havent dropped to the level of the gutter.
Some dont like the rules imposed here, and use every opportunity to have a dig, or try to cause dissention. well its a free website and they can do what they want. until the rules we ask users here to follow are breached. When they breach the rules knowingly, then they cry.
Easy answer you know what standard of behaviour we ask. either go along with it, or dont. but dont complain when your edited, suspended or banned.
As we have said countless times before. This website is run under a set of rules, if you cant/wont comply with those rules then dont use the website. no-one is forcing an arm up anyones back making them log into here.

We never discuss publicaly discussions between members by the admin team or sanctions taken against members. they are kept between the member concerned and the admin team.
Concerns raised are dscussed among the admin team and a consensus reached, while that may not be the result YOU want we have fouind on less cut and dried issues, or where a number of parties are equally guilty of inflaming a situation the best appproach. At one time we were accused of being too heavy handed and stamping on everyone , now we have taken a bit more lenient approach in cases where everyone has overstepped the mark we are still wrong.
Moderation isnt easy, its a balancing act and we will never keep everyone happy. We do what we can.

I havent seen Orys complaining much, he just uses his sense of humour to get over it.

A moderator would not/could not PM and tell what discussions/actions are being taken by the admin team towards any member. it is private between the member and the moderators concerned.
Unlike many internet forums we have this forum where we try to explain as best we can actions taken without divulging details of individual cases. many other forums have a like it or lump it approach.
We will not discuss our actions/conversations with individual members, but will point out the rules. are open to discussion on whwre the rules are going worng, and involve the users here in helping us to refine our policies and moderating practices.
Anyone who has been here a while will have seen that the moderation has evolved and in some areas become more lenienmt, on other things we have taken a stronger line. Moderation of these forum under constant review and the input in here is the major force for changes in policy.
The moderators here do a almost thankless job, day in and day out. it would be nice if just for once that unpaid commitment to keeping this website on track was recognised by the members

I think you’ll find that it is generally recognised and appreciated, it’s just that most of us don’t shout as much or as loud as the moaners
