Seany:
I really don’t see why people need to rush about. I can do all my days work driving at the legal speed limits and still get finished on time, most days early. Today I started at 515 finished at 1015 all work completed without breaking any speed limits.
And you think the average day in transport is like that do you??
Not always. I’ve got to do 5 1/2 hours today. I won’t be breaking any speed limits though. If I do happen to go over 5 1/2 then I go into overtime so not all bad.
If the speed merchants want to go faster, they can overtake me…it’s a very simple thing to do but if you expect me to interrupt my day and pull into a layby every 5 minutes like a frightened schoolboy…it ain’t happening.

You can do what you want but don’t start moaning on when you have drivers acting in a frustrated manor behind.

Yes but we all know that 90% of car drivers can’t drive and can’t overtake therefor creating a backlog of traffic over a distance to another truck or another car further back in the line that can drive and that can overtake, but because half the muppets behind you cannot, then the rest of us has to sit and endure it.
It’s all very professional doing 40 but it takes a professional to account for other road users as well.

Why am I, according to you, now responsible for the actions of other drivers? If other drivers are frustrated, that’s their look-out not mine.
I will not be held responsible for drivers who can’t, don’t or won’t overtake and I won’t be made a scapegoat either for other driver actions.
I don’t understand why a driver on a wage wants to drive over the speed limit and risk his licence anyway. I was running along a dual carriageway today, I was doing just a touch over 50mph and a loaded hooklift lorry went flashing past me obviously on the limiter, why? the man’s on hours and works for a boss who couldn’t give a monkeys about him. Simply doesn’t make sense to me.

Maybe he was running out of driving time ? Maybe it was the difference between seeing his kids or a night in the truck?
6mph over anyway. He was hardly being a lunatic ■■■■■■■■ speeder a danger to all

So that means us obeying the law drivers should move to one side?
If you are holding up a decent amount of traffic moving over into a layby for a few seconds isn’t doing you any harm. You would expect a slow moving tractor to do the same on a back road. Its road edicate if you like.
We are not just talking about trucks here. Cars, vans etc etc

That’s fine and dandy and all very noble but you’re not seeing the bigger picture.
Those of us with trackers fitted are monitored, so when my boss pulls me into the office and asks me why I’m pulling into laybys every five minutes…what should I tell him?
Maybe I should tell him the truth, that some numpties off the internet think I should pull into laybys every five minutes. But I know what my boss will say…firstly don’t do it, it uses more fuel and costs the company money and secondly I don’t pay you to listen to numpties off the internet.
I am also tracked and they will know how much fuel i used and also know what sort of lay by i have stopped in. I dob’t think they be happy to know that i was pulling in and out of lay bys all day to let a few people by who want to break the speed limit.

This is going around in circles
and it always will!!!
our lazy sods, sorry, driver trainers encourage us to pull over if we have a long queue behind us!!!
