What's the go?

Just watched this rubbish, there’s three parts of an hour I’ll never get back. :frowning:

Apart from the norm, in this genre, making mountains out of molehills, why are the idiots driving with the curtains half closed and how do they get away with it?
What’s with all the toys and crap, can’t they sleep without a teddy? :unamused:

Star down under.:

Well to be fair i think you deserve a big pat on the back , i lasted under 2 minutes. It was a tv series but more like a publicity stunt for the company . Hardly compares with the antics Steve Graham gets up to down under . Sensationalising a very mundane job for tv with cheap advertising. I dont think they came out of it looking good
To be fair Bewick learnt alot from them

You cheeky ■■■■ “Ramone” it was the other way round but it was a failure because Fast Eddie couldn’t get the hang of sheeting and roping so he went down the Tautliner route which was the easy way out for “non Handlers” :open_mouth:  Cheers Dennis.

Ooh Dennis I clicked on that link and as soon as I saw who it was I shut it off, to be fair Eddie Stobart himself was a completely different kettle of fish to the ■■■■■ who run it now after all he made more money selling coffee mugs and T shirts to mugs than he ever made out of haulage. Think he liked to keep his trucks clean and tidy at the beginning as a sort of advert for the company but since he has passed its gone to pot, too many fingers in too many pots methinks, every one has an opinion on Stobart’s but generally TBH I don’t think they have done the industy any favours at all and a lot have been pushed aside to make way for them, they will extinguish in the end, too big and not too clever with it just my opinion of course, Buzzer

It’s obvious none of em can be trusted to drive a proper drawbar and tilts are what proper drivers use.

Even the Germans have to get it right sometimes.

Well Buzzer IMHO you being a “tad” over generous with your appraisal of “The Fast One” ! I was fortunate to be acquainted with David Irlam ( a great Operator IMHO) and I recall him relating to me “The Fast Eddie” philosophy of how to secure new business and it appalled him as Fast Eddie believed that by cutting the bottom out of a particular job to see off other possible competitors you then hopefully attempted to gradually restore the rate to a viable level and start making profit "fingers arms and legs crossed " unfortunately this M O would backfire on The Fast One spectacularly on a regular basis. At least David Irlam believed that a new piece of traffic should be profitable from day one ! But he said he had many arguments with The Fast One about profitable operation but alas to no avail. Cheers Dennis.

I’m not anti-Stobart but I totally agree! But the people who made the programme should carry the can for this kind of nonsense. They’d obviously thought that Ice Road Truckers was ‘for real’

For example, I watched one episode where a bloke backed a regular artic onto a modern, capacious loading bay in daylight with good visibilty. Absolutely nothing to comment on. Wrong!! The frenetic, over-dramatised Yankee-style commentry would have had you believe that he was reversing at mid-dnight in a thunderstorm with a left-■■■■■■ on the blind side under severe stress at gun-point with a sheer drop on either side of the vehicle. It was mind-bogglingly pathetic. These films aren’t even made for children, who in my experience are very discerning creatures who would object to being duped into thinking an everyday occurrence was a Victorian melo-drama. They are clearly made for the gullible!

STOBART ASSET STRIPPER,and blue chip companies used them.he took the NAAFI over ZB THAT UP ,he got on the act with the KOSVO work i was told .there was in my opinion no big transport company around to play him at his own game,DENTRASSANGLE if they were ENGLISH MAY HAVE DONE, IF WE HAD A GOOD OLD B.R.S. then would that have stopped them…?

There’s a lot of bad language comes out of ■■■■■■■ , it’s just knowing how to press the right buttons

One of the best boxed sets I ever bought  It sits proudly on the mantle in a glass case for all to admire, it was well worth the shipping cost from the UK. I only watch them on special occasions and always dress from head to foot in green to set the mood :sunglasses:

You talk about legends, these lads and lasses are real legends, don’t think many drivers could accomplish what they do in a day. :grimacing: :grimacing:
