Whats soooo good about Scania

Ok so I’m in a bread van, P cab Scania the bed is comfortable however I have seen bigger cot beds for width. The ■■■■■■■ doors don’t lock from the outside and there are NO curtains first time in this wagon usually have a Renault Premium and would work for free to get it back. Possible night out tonight too any ideas on how to block the light out as will be on 15hrs at 1530. Oh and before anyone says the things listed will be going on a defect note

How can you have a night out without curtains ? My company has its faults but they wouldn’t expect me to do that.

TBH if it gets to the stage where I know its gonna he a night out I’ll be informing them that I will be in a travel lodge and their 70/80k truck will be left unlocked as the locks on both sides are ■■■■■■

Oh and its got 2 400ltr derv tanks lol might leave it in a lay by.

Pull your hat down over your eyes, that should keep the light out

Same with most brands, they’re only nice if you spec them up.

The doors not locking and the lack of curtains is more to do with how the lorry has been looked after, or not looked after, rather than the badge on the grille.

Exactly, this is just what I was thinking. It’s not the trucks fault regardless of make and model. My Scanias got curtains and the doors lock, but the bottom bunk is crap

It’s a hard hat phil. Does that count.

Agree with theys, my Scania doors lock “centre locking ” curtains iv changed then from the standard Scania ones to flashy ones, bottom bunk is comfy memo foam mattress and top bunk normally got stuff on it like case and clothes “bunkdrobe” ect ect.

Scania need like the Magnum got with the wardrobe

We all used to night out in day cabs at one time if the digs were full or we got caught out, two planks of wood across the bonnet and one plank lying across 'em  , sellotaped newspapers over the windows for a sense of privacy.

If its only for one night then it won’t kill ya.

Had a proper steering wheel attendant user previously that lorry by the sounds of it.

Scania even though they are expensive seem to be becoming the gaffers choice, Scan didn’t spend money on comfort (seats and ride quality now well behind) but they keep going regardless.

My Dad’s got a 62 plate P420 day cab tractor unit, basic spec but says it’s brilliant. A bit slower than his old 02 reg Foden but that had a 450 Cat. His job is basically trunking to Bicester from either Lechlade quarry or Kidlington sidings so is all you really need spec wise.

Sorry was a little peeved earlier I know its not scannys fault about the curtains. The locks I would say is been in a few Scania’s and a couple had duff locks and the bunk isnt worth having. Do they get bigger up the spec like a r series

The bed is wider in a topline compared to a highline R series. The cabs are small compared to other makes but its only a problem when ive got my girlfriend with me for the week. I like scanias, they’re easy to drive and hold the road well but if I had a choice I wouldn’t have one, even with a V8, which are well overrated in my opinion.

You never took the job with the COOP then?!!! Our cabs ( well some of them) have curtains but nothing for the rear window!

I used to drive a V8 480 wagon & drag (Aframe   ) a few years ago with side pipes that stopped just before the drive axle. They looked mega impressive, but after a while the noise did my head In. The boss eventually fitted a system that made It a lot quieter(spelling)…

Snap I drive a R500 to  not really you get use to it after some time, don’t need the horns when you got the pipes

Mine sounds like a bag of spanners when its idling lol, spose the exhaust drowns that out on yours!
