What would you choose

Someone please explain what the problem is with (as Juddian put it) ‘the toytown handbrake’

That’s the only let down with the Scania, old fashioned hand brake. I love the Volvo handbrake.

I’d prefer the scania because I found the bed with the extra width pull out when needed better but then as most drivers would say " If you took this from Volvo that from scania this from DAF and that from ! .
You’d have the best truck in the world"

Funny that, because apart from the god awful ride that was one of the things I hated most about the Scanias.

Just a small update.I went with the volvo was told its march will be here but ill wait and see when it comes.I saw the scania lying there next to the volvo i have now and that made my mind up.So my next new truck will be a 18 plate volvo fh 500.

On the money!!!
Mate just got new FH460 last week in my firm,
They have specced the i-shift buttons on dash rather than stick@ side of seat and he’s not so sure.

He just discovered yesterday it has built-in Wi-Fi with 5Gig month or something along those lines.
Downloaded all the music playing apps!!![emoji41]

New Scania R series every day , the handbrake on the new Volvos frightens the life out of me :open_mouth:

Thats exactly what I just came back on to add. Id forgotten about how ridiculous it was. I could hardly get it to “lock” and I just didnt trust it one little bit.
Volvo for comfort but for piece of mind, the scania

The Volvo new handbrake was a tad worrying to start with but soon got used to it,pull up to a set of lights handbrake on pick up coffee drive off still holding coffee no taking handbrake off job done lol.
Times I got in the Volvo forgot and tried to put key in the usual place then realised it goes in the left side in the dash lol oops

With the mixed opinions I don’t think you could make a bad choice here, bit like choosing between ■■■■ or a ■■■■■■■■ (I have had this choice thrust upon me).

I would lean towards the Volvo myself, Scanias are nice but now considered a bit gay.
Probably not as gay as the Renault I drive though. I do love her after 2 years in the saddle.

I wouldn’t say a Renault is gay Dave, I look on them as requiring a rather cosmopolitan driver. They have a certain je ne sais quoi and allows a driver to swap and change between looks, a tarty look for those day and nights when things are just going that way and at other times you can choose a look of sophistication where a deer stalker and full country attire doesn’t look out of place. Today I had a sultry secretary look about me and the Renault certainly allowed me to pull this off. Can you say the same of a Scania or volvo. I think not.
