I used to have a TT 550 Live and it was excellent, had live services and could set it to a 50mph limited speed. Arrival times over a 3 hour drive was always correct give or take 2 minutes.
Anyway it packed in so the shop gave me a replacement 1000… live services still good but no limited speed, i’ve put up with that but now that ones packed in, something inside is corrupt so my laptop doesnt recognise it (all i want to do is renew live services).
I wanted to swap to Garmin but apparently you can’t set a limited speed on them… So what one to go for?
Don’t want a proper truck one - too expensive and i’ve got a Philips Atlas and common sense.
Any help appreciated.

If you have a look at pocketgpsworld.com/modules.p … ic&t=87884
it tells you what features were dropped at which model, I also wanted to be able to set a limited speed and bought a refurbed XL live IQ from tomtom.com/en_gb/products/to … let-store/ had it a year and just updated the live services this month,I see they still have some along with the 550.

Two things, 1, your 1000 should be repairable and cheaply if you can find someone to look at it - I say should but there’s no guarentees.
2, Get a Tomtom x20, x30 or x40 (x being 5, 7 or 9) and then get the Tomtom Truck Navcore and Maps thrown on it, if you can’t do it yourself, most people who can will sort it for around £30 including card, they’re frigging excellent - BUT not perfect
