Answer me this, if your still on your work permit, and lets say you got ill, and you had to have 3/4 weeks off work , where would you stand regarding sick pay , and your job ect

Depends where you work and what your contract is
Not entirely sure what the score is but there is workers comp which pay out. I will try to find out for you.

Iβm sure that the Provincial workers compensation programs only cover injuries sustained while working, not illness.
This is good time to point out that those who are in Canada on a work permit SHOULD buy supplementary private health insurance, to cover them, until they are covered by the Provincial Health Care program. Each Province has itβs own health program, and some require a 3 month "waiting period " to become enrolled, while others start upon arrival in that Province.
So, it is up to the individual to make sure that they are coverd by the health insurance plan. As far as "being off sick " ? It would depend on the individual 's contract provisions. In many cases, if you donβt work, you donβt get paid.
