The mods arent getting rid of the trolls thats the problem. I havn’t a problem with people who dont drive lorries being members and chatting as you dont have to drive them to have an interest, but there are many people on here who coming on just to cause trouble.

They may not always be different people.

Why dont people with two or more accounts get banned then? I dont have a problem with these people but they end up pushing good members away. Look whats happened with luke, it was only earlier i see another dig about him and yet nothing seems to get done (perharps its been sorted now). Its amazing how its so strict on swearing here but yet things that really matter dont get sorted. I personally feel quite strongly about the whole gay thing that has gone on, its was bang out of order, for someone who adds so much to this forum to get treated like that was and is a disgrace.
Please dont feel im having a go at you coffee, just impressing my views.

Nothing in the rules about having more than one account. I have about 5 on here at any one time and at least two on every forum I am on.
I didn’t see a dig against Luke earlier, I must have missed it as I don’t read every thread or go into every forum.
I reckon it’s summat to do with people hiding behind their keyboards being brave with nothing better to do in their boring little lives than abuse people who get out there an try an make the job a little less tedious than it actually is for themselves and the rest of us. Basically quite a lot on here need to grow up and let other people be - as most people enjoy healthy ‘discussions’ but if you dare disagree with some posters on here the toys come out the pram!!!

say s it all then.
It does seeem to have slipped a bit recently. There is almost an obsession with preventing swearing or even innuendo on here, but personal attacks or put downs generally seem to be acceptable. There doesn’t seem to be any moderation anymore… shame
I agree with BT, now that’s a first
I think it has more to do with the lorry driver of today, a lot of the people posting don’t have much to say, so the threads are often uninteresting, compare the UK Forum to the Old Time Driver’s Forum, there’s plenty of interesting stuff because the old boys had plenty of tales to tell, today’s driver spends his time stuck in traffic or on the limiter, going up and down the same roads every week, sitting in waiting rooms at RDCs, with every aspect of the job spelled out in a memo for them, hardly likely to raise stimulating conversation is it
And now with my tongue firmly in my cheek…If you want to read something interesting, check out my blog by following the link in my signature, you can PM me on here if you have any comments, or join in the thread I post when I put a new entry up, we can talk about any or everything, I don’t mind whether it’s good or bad, I love a good trucknet debate
I thought that normality had resumed since a certain member decided to “do one”. Looks fine to me.

And you have come to this conclusion how, exactly?

Before you two ^^ start another ‘war of words’, this is exactly what is meant by the OP, and which I and many others it appears agree with…
There does seem to be a lack of tolerance towards any different views and opinions! There is nothing wrong with healthy debate, a reasoned argument and a good ■■■■ take…what gets my goat is a couple (or more…) seemingly grown men having a childish keyboard battle because one likes dollies and the other likes teddies! (Sarcasm and a figure of speech for those that don’t understand… )
I also don’t understand the need for more than one username, for most members anyway! I actually can for the moderators because they may like to log-in as an ordinary mortal and chat, rather than be here in an ‘official capacity’. IMHO any more than that I see as potential trouble-making but perhaps I’m not looking at it correctly…
As a former poster said, Luke had a very bad time of it and it was pretty unforgiveable. I beleive it has been dealt with but Luke is very noticeable by his absence, which is telling in itself!! Its also a damned shame because his posts where always a pleasure to read…
As for the trolls, they are just a bloody nuisance but it is unfair, I feel, to expect the mods to spot them and sort them out immediately. I would think that they have private lives too!! Surely its not too much to expect us, as members of this forum, to report them as soon as we see them? I don’t mean after the first ■■■■■■ post but after the tenth one, on different topics, which can only mean antagonistic behaviour towards others. The more ‘we’ report them, the more fed up they will get and hopefully they will bugger off for good! I would have a quid that ‘they’ are mostly down to one or two people but thats just a gut feeling. Batista was a particularly nasty specimin and I’m sure he hasn’t just rolled over because he had his bottom smacked…
There is an awful lot of good people here and a vast array of knowledge and experience. It is a pleasure to read about those experiences, past or present and wonderful to learn something new every day about aspects of the job that I knew nothing about.
It would be a shame to lose all of this because of the silly actions of a few…

How the [zb] do you reach that conclusion from Rob’s post? You clearly have no idea what he is referring to and have missed his point entirely.
You have missed his point so throw your toys out the pram and refer to him in a derogatory manner, which is exactly what you were complaining about. You couldn’t make it up, maybe internet forums aren’t for you?

+1, especially about having more than one username - that has always been a banning matter on other forums that I’m on, the only exception being mods. The only reason for having more than one username is to troll…
The Sarge:

Not always but that is the usual reason.
Also handy to have at least one already in place that you have used on odd occasions in case your main name gets banned. Extra attention is usually paid to people signing up just after a banning so it can make life much easier if you are already good to go.

Well said Piston broke, good post
One comment I agree with was immediately attacked by another poster, just because of who posted it. Rob has a rather vociferous history on the forum, because being from Yorkshire, he tells it like it is. He can post the most helpful advice, which he has done in the past, yet someone will always make a snide or sarcastic comment.
He doesn’t need me to stick up for him, he is ugly enough to do that himself.
