Well as many of you know im not having a great time of it, ive been diagnosed with some form of epilepsy (still waiting to find out which type) , had an M.R.I. scan last night and im due to have a EEG soon. I have a sick note up until the 24th of August, the problem is that is has epilepsy written on it, the one before had fracture due to my collarbone. When I take it in im frightened they are gonna sack me there and then, can they do this? I have been told under no circumstances am I too quit.
Please try not to worry about the job easier said than done
but as some one who has gone through this torture,it is not
worth worrying about ,You have rights and your employer has to
follow them, talk to the CAB if you are not a Union member,
Your health is what matters,right now , If they question the sick note
then just say your doctor has sent you to see experts in various fields of
medicine, and the results are not yet through or have been confirmened
what is wrong. AS you have been toldYOU do not
QUIT what so ever, keep all paperwork they send to you safe ,also
copy any paperwork you send to them, plus if possible send it RECORDED
delivery ,so you have proff of the delivery, okay,

Well I went in yesterday and saw my TM, I had just been to the fracture clinic for my broken collarbone and they have told me that I have to take 3 more weeks due to it not healing properly, I took the sicknote in and explained to my TM what had happened and to be fair he was very understanding, i told him everything that had happened, he asked me if they had taken my licence off me and if not did they plan too? Again I told him everything i knew and explained I was under investigation.
My TM then told me that he would get his boss to ring me today, Im not looking forward to that but it needs doing and I will see what he says from there. I am not going to quit and I will see what he says…
I suggest you give ACAS a call and keep sending the sick notes into work, although you can be sacked while you are sick. I am pretty sure they cannot sack you for being sick.
Until you receive the letter from DVLA and probably go through an appeal procedure, or medical with the DVLA medical examiners. (ATOS I think) then you still have a driving licence.
Good Luck Potter. You cannot be a proper lorry driver anyway if you fit in an MRI Scanner
