i thought this might be a start of a new topic whilst coming back from Bristol to poole, what ever happened to the totem pole at the top of the slip road from the a36 onto the a3098 where you turned left for chapmanslade, or the two stone pillars that were between Dorchester and Weymouth, or maybe the old Leyland clocks from up north, haulage history disappearing but like an old mill or stately home should if possible be remembered if not found. even the odd white painted dead tree,

Alan you’ve got to much time on your hands now !
yes i know, I even got a scrap skip in and weighed in two and a quarter ton of iron out of the back garden, although it looks much the same as it did, only a couple of three cars and two forklifts and we should see some progress, I might even start on the inside of the garage when it warms up a bit, and you would not believe how much I unloaded onto a mate from the isle of wight, all good gear but for a younger man than me, and I have been banned from the cutting gear, chainsaw and ladders with more than 3 steps, honestly they were minor incidents, and the trouble I had convincing the wife that cougar 5 gas for the mig was not flammable, even if the padding on the inside of a rear wheel arch on a peugeot was, again such a minor fire in the garage, I know the camper and Bedford were in there but that’s what fire extinguishers are for, and it was not that bad he could not drive it, mind you he did not keep it very long, probably just the smell of the scorched interior, any way ill press on.

The 2 stone pillars that were on top of Ridgeway Hill on the Weymouth road are now at the entrance to Weymouth Park and Ride next to Sainsburys on New Look,s old site.
