Globepalm 2005-2009. Mainly pharmaceuticals to Switzerland then reloading with anything back to the UK from Swiss or eastern France. Also quite a bit of hazardous waste on A-boards going to Bitterfeld in the former east Germany.

Since 2009 I have been in Canada and while travelling in Canada or the USA, I meet more Brits than I ever did on the roads of Europe, says it all really!

Donkey Oaty…we must have met at some point, I worked for JSL in stoke from 89 till they got bought out by Stobarts in 99.
Had some good times on the old Sveti Josip sailing from Rijeka to Split when the road was a bit dodgy. Good few nights out in Rijeka too when we just missed the ferry and had to wait 2 days

Sorry to go off topic. Too wise did you know Dave birch and Cyril? Both passed away recently unfortunately. There’s a long letter about birchy in this month’s free truck paper.

Toowise I only ever sailed from Rijeka to Split a couple of times preferring to take the 50 quid extra for using the coast road. Incidentally, yesterday I spent the day at the Penkhull jazz and Blues festival in Stoke with two characters you may recall from JSL namely Alan Chadwick(Chad) and Steve Abbott both were in good form and we had a blast. Regards. ps in response to an earlier poster yes I had many w.ends at Ouistreham and always eat in the resto Coin du Port

All my Euro work was during the early/mid 90’s, so I experienced customs stops and T forms and then it all got easier when the borders came down.

Fred Bent (Spalding) - Italian groupage for A1 at Leeds
Jo Carpini (March) - as above with a bit of Spain thrown in for good measure. One of the first 13.6M tilst from Essex trls :open_mouth:
Trailstar International (Doncaster) - the whole of Europe, with far too much ADR work for my liking.
Yeoman Transport (Acton) - as part of the Yeoman Aggs operation in Germany on the northern border with Poland, Szcecin was a regular night out

Had a ball doing Euro work, with so many memories and so many great sights and places. :grimacing:
My very first weekend was spent parked up behind the train station in Turin, with a drunk Dutchman (seperate cabs of course) and my lasting memory, (or perhaps nightmare), was being woken at 2am and propositioned by a man in a raincoat, yep, just a rain coat!!! :open_mouth:
