Had a spell on Boettgers transport in Germany in the 80´s doing Yugoslavia, Greece, Rumania and any where else the German drivers did not feel like going to, returning back to UK a couple of years was spent working for a subby running for IPEC out of Northampton, before once again leaving the country for Holland and working for Jan de Rijk (he had about 30 motors then) went everywhere where wheels could go for about 5 years before moving on to Van Overveld where once again the destination was anywhere that paid enough until they settled down to doing regular Spain after 13 years I fancied a change so went to work for Frio Rens out of Almeria chasing cruise ships around most parts of the northern hemisphere before returning to Van Overveld to open and run the Spanish depot near San Sebastian

It would be around 1978 on the caravans. I was at school with Mark - Globepalm
just think you may have set a few chairs away from me having a meal many years ago,a lot of Brits would stop for coffee and pancakes at the Creperie, one the way up or down from the Cherbourg ferry, there was a dangerous series of bends and corners, that by now will be a truck ban on,or shut for good.
North of Le Mans the Shell garage was a regular pit stop,on the way for the Ouistreham ferry, big dog there, friendy staff that could knock up steak et frites,or a sandwhich, the dog was Elgor, skinny lad in the bar that was in to cycling, the owner lived there with his girl friend or wife.
