What does an amber light before a red mean to you?

For too many of us I fear it means “Accelerate, as the camera doesn’t go off until you pass the signal full-on Red… There’s still time guv!”

Amber means stop.Flashing amber means proceed with caution.While the amber means stop rule defeats the object of having an amber light but also why it’s essential to have a flashing green.
