What does ALAN mean?

I keep seing it all over, on the back of a lot of trucks and trailers. Tried google but no luck.

Listeners to the Alex Lester show on Radio 2 write it on the back of their vehicles, used to be Slap My Top at one time.

Mind you i always refer to knickers as Alans…bit of rhyming…Alan Wickers… :smiling_imp:

You don’t “ride the night horse” with The Dark Lord

He’s on his hols this week, Mark Goodier is covering his show.

The same as SLOGAN last year. Not listened overnight yet so I don’t know what it’s for yet.

as a night driver I normally listen to Alex Lester so I can tell you it stands for Alex Lester At Night.

Isn’t it welsh for exit?
They have it written on the road in the lay bye’s this size of Holyhead.
I assume its for the terminally confused/ Irish :unamused:

Alex Lester All Night

Last years was SLOGAN - ■■■■ Lester Our God All Night

It’s just a bit of banter and usually shows those who work at ridiculous times - between 2 and 4am

Cheers lads. I do work nights but listen to internet radio.

ARAF is welsh for if in doubt flat out

I’ve never listened to him as I’m sensible enough to be be tucked up in bed at that time, is he good then?

Yes very much so, it’s a shame he can’t do Fatty Feltz’s show too.

Isn’t that the truth, Sarah Kennedy always had some amusing banter, but name dropper Felz i can’t listen more than 20 seconds.

Alex Lester- well overdue for his own prime-time radio show, in my opinion.

Completely agree, the day feltz was recruited to radio 2 was the last day I listened to the station after nearly 3 decades,5 live now, morning noon and night.

Radio 4 all the way for me. If I want music I can listen to my ipod … I don’t like the sort of music they play on the radio, and I definitely don’t like inane chatter between songs.

I still like Radio 2, but I have to turn it off / retune when SHE’s on and when Steve - the annoying git / I can’t sing and will do so over every decent song / comment ■■■■ about a song and then say “but I love it” / not funny - Wright is on.

I’m just so happy that I convinced the missus to stop watching live broadcast TV and stopped paying these ■■■■■■■■ over inflated wages.

I’ve seen it too but had it not been for this post, I would not have put two and two together and realised it meant something :unamused:

Thanks Trucknet :grimacing:
