What do I need to become a c+e driver?

Hi forum ,
I passed my class 2 an class 1 licences in 2006 with help from the army . Al though I’ve only driven hgv very few times since passing tests. I’ve reached a time in change of career , where I’m looking to become a full time driver .
My questions are .
Do I need to do a cps course ?
How much do they cost ?
What length of time can they be completed over ?
Is there anything to look for on finding a course centre ?

I live in Hertfordshire .
Many thanks
Brian .

A C+E on your licence

Seriously, you only need to pass the C+E practical test which consists of the on-road drive, the reverse and the un-couple

Cost is usually around the £1k mark

Usually done between 3 and 5 full days of 2 to 1 or half days of 1 to 1

How many periodic DCPC hours do you have so far out of the 35 required by 10th Sept this year?

Sorry, I’ve not made myself clear . I do have C+E on my licence .
It’s the DCPC I’m looking at having answered ?

Right now you need nothing else to drive any LGV

How many of the required 35 hours of Driver cpc do you have already?

I have none hrs DCPC hrs .
What does this course cover an costs involved ?
Is this some thing that can done in a weeks course ?

Thanks for your replies

Your head feeling

Thanks for your help .
£325 for DCPC course , can be done in a week .

there are hundreds of different periodic dcpc courses and its up to you what you pick

Most employers will now ask how many hours you have if not already got a DQC - driver cpc card

The cheapest 35 hour course I know of is recoverytech.co.uk/

you can do the same 7 hour course 5 times to get the 35 = very boring

No tests involved - just book, pay, turn up with both parts of licence and in most cases just sit in a classroom bored for hours

My licence was in the post when I did my 7 hours (I’d banked 28 for my C and C+E training) fella was happy enough to use my digicard as ID.

Do you have a digi card ■■ as you will need 1 apply to DVLA for them

You dont need cpc as yet but will by sept 14 all 35 hrs it can be done all at same time or came be done weekly
