Hi Dave,

Cheers Dave.
Anoth American taken by a Welsh Border bloke.

Daf CF bulk feed artic, seen on the A44 on Radnor Forest, Mid Wales.
The bulk feed lorries were out in force today, here’s another, seen on the A483 in Tremont Road,Llandrindod Wells.
Hi Dave, was it Orlando FL your brotherinlaw visited. That forecourt looks like the old King Volvo/GMC dealership on sandlake road. Kings sold the franchise to Nextran who also bought Orlando Mack. Nextran run about 6 shared Volvo/Mack dealerships in Florida. Makes sense as both manafacturers are owned by Volvo Group AB of Sweden.
Cheers Paul.

Hi Paul,
You are absolutely right,it was Orlando they went to, three years in a row, when there kids were young, their daughter now lives in British Columbia, they now go there,I will get him to get some pics when they go in the summer.
Cheers Dave.
Wow, I thought it was Kings old place. After Nextran moved the Volvo franchise to landstreet rd, Rush Peterbilt took over the building, but about 1 yr ago closed it down sharing the business with their Winter Garden and Lake Alfred dealerships. That building is vacant now,and in need of attention. Last week I bumped into Rush truck rentals manager, who informed me they had taken over the location previously belonging to Tressica Eqpt the well respected JCB dealer in central Florida. Lately all I hear is bad news, I have never known it so slow around here in the past 18 yrs. When construction slows down the knock on effect is incredible. Those Volvo’s in the photo were WA’s on the forecourt, the American F88 being the first that Volvo had any real input on after the takeover. The green Publix motor was the last of the White/GMCs, after which became Volvo/GMC and finally Volvo. The giveaway for the Volvo ownership was the chrome diagional strip across the grill.Due to some legal tie up Volvo were not allowed to use their own name for a number of years after the takeover, and at that time few Americans new Renault owned Mack trucks or the fact that Mercedes had owned Freightliner since the late 70s.
Cheers Paul, once a valley boy always a valley boy.
ps. Andrew just pm me give me some notice and we will get together mate.
Yet another bulk feed blower seen yesterday, near Penybont Common,Radnorshire.
Passey Nott & Co Ltd, were a very old corn and seed merchant and animal feed firm from Kington,Herefordshire, with another branch at Hereford. They ran 12 lorries from Kington, with 3 running from Hereford, they also had about six full time subcontracted lorries working for them. My Father drove for this firm for over 45 years, army service included. They sold out to Midland Shire Farmers in 1988,later to become Countrywide.
This pic was taken in 1979 at a presentation to a Farmer, outside their Kington warehouse. In the picture centre are Ian Scott a director and a young Tom Lewis with the beard (salesman) who kindly lent me the pic.
Hello Dave, still finding good pics mate…been asked to move one of the pics from the scrapbook to here…not quite in your area but not a million miles away.
Cheers Bubbs.
Thankyou Bubbs. Here you are Dave a motor I drove at the sweet age of 22, although I can not remember that Iveco badge on her. The only person I could think who added that was Gary, a Deri boy who worked in the garage until he went on the road. I tell you its unreal when you see a company you know, worked for or even better a motor you once drove. Just incredible!
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul ,
Alan Price’s wagons do come up to the quarries near here occasionally,do see quite a few of them when going down Merthyr area. There is a local tipper haulier, now retired, who originated from Bargoed, who has promised to dig some old tipper pics out for me.I need a tranquillizer gun,not a sedative.
Cheers Dave.
