Hi ianto,
Do you still run lorries these days. I remember D&N Morgan as its not that far from me where they operated. I know they had quite a few wagons, but until Finn posted the pics, forgot what they ran, think they had some Atki’s,could be wrong.
Cheers Dave.

Hi ianto,
My cousin Dennis Lewis bought a Scania six wheeler flatbed from down that area a few years back, it came off a chap who hauled concrete products,he ran it on livestock.
Used to go to concrete products at Llangadog in the 60’s with a little BMC FG threepenny bit cab, supposed to carry 3 tons, fetched them back to Kington, the firm I worked for had the yard where KBS are,William Powell & Son,they were Builders, also ran about ten lorries on haulage, the FG was the building lorry.
Cheers Dave.

Fin thanks for that, have you got any pics of Passey Nott & Co from Kington and Hereford, they ran a dozen lorries from Kington and three at Hereford. My Dad drove for them for over forty years, theyy also had a couple of Roberts of Knighton on license to them also several owner drivers, they used H L Robinson from Hereford,Burgoynes, all the local general hauliers at times, they sold out to MSF in the late eighties.
Cheers Dave.

THanks Fin,
I have asked a few of the old drivers, also the boss of Passey’s,he asked the other Directors who are still alive, none have any. I think my Sister may have one,as she has got a lot of my parents old pics, there are still a couple of old drivers that I will ask.
H L Robinson had a smart looking fleet in their day. A ex driver of Passey Nott at Hereford Bob Willis started on his own and hauled for them,I think he lived at Kings Caple up by the Callow,or Kings Thorn. Gammonds used to do quite a bit for them,I remember the old man Gammond coming to the Kington depot with an International Harvester six wheeler in the fifties, quite a rare sight at the time.
Cheers Dave

Hi Dave, I went to D+N Morgan’s auction somewhere around 1986. They sold off Merc’s,S/A and ERF’s along with flat and box trailers. Almost everything sold.
There were a lot of ex employees bidding on their old units, the rest going to local farmers and hauliers.
There was a few white F10’s,but they went into the Morgan Hire fleet.
Cheers Paul
Hi ianto,
He subbed a lot for Roberts of Knighton,I remember the lorry and the replacement, think they were blue, kept them smart, his name was Harkins or something beggining with H,atkidave will know, his Dad drove for Roberts until they finished.
Cheers Dave.
