Hi Trevor,
I have never heard of them but I have just found this image of Abbey Foregate and Hobson Greenwood’s Offices, the only firm from Montford Bridge was Jabez Barker who now sell caravans?

Evening all,
Pete you are quite right…
Now the Hobson Greenwood offices, if you look down that entry you will see the remains of a 5in gauge rail network!
When you look at that ERF KV Cab, you have to realise what an incredible designer Gerald Broadbent really is…in my opinion by far the equal of Phillipe Charbonneaux…those 8 wheelers truly were handsome lorries.
Talking of caravans, every time David, from Oaklands Park, buys a new mobile home to site at Shutt Green, we get the enjoyment of Vernwy Caravans EC ERF squeezing down the lane to deliver it…still a modern lorry to me!..but sounds so sweet…wonder whatever happened to their E series?
Enjoy your holiday…
Cheerio for now.

Hi Saviem,
Last day tomorrow, I’m sure a lad has saved the E series 4 wheeler of Vernwy caravans and whilst on the subject of ERF’s I wonder what happened to that 4 wheel kv that was parked on left past Jack Moodys yard by Cheslyn Hay? Think it belonged to a councillor

Hi Trevor,
Was Jabez Barker’s motors brown? there was one in preservation and last time I saw it was at the old Bishops Castle rally, I’ll wack some photo’s of Mytton Mills on when I get home, Cheer’s Pete
Hello Pete , yes Barkers motors were indeed brown and mostly AECs . As i remember they hauled a lot of timber into ETC at Ellesmere . I did not know they had a motor in preservation , thank you Trevor .
Jabez Barker ,must have had a driver based at Glasbury on Wye , an AEC Mandator was usually parked up in a layby just below the old railway bridge .
They may have worked into the sawmills at Newbridge along with Treeharvesting , regards Keith .

Morning all,
Pete, that F88 was supplied by my pal Rob Owens, but it was not the first F88 in Shropshire, that honour went to Cyril Forrester at Whixall Moss…used it for two years only around the farm, before he registered it for the road.
Russell and Gordon were friends with Cyril, and that is how they came to get into Volvo…and then there were no more Atkinson Borderers with 180 Gardners, and 18802 Eaton back ends…with those two speeds they were easy 70 mph cruisers…and Gordon had more spares for Atkinson, than any of the Dealers in his shed at Morda!..He did the same thing with Volvo much later!
Cheerio for now.
