Two more from The Gravel Run.

Hiya,
The Seddon looks very nice, but wouldn’t like to drive it for work, a 180
Percy was rubbish at 32 tons in them I drove one about the same year
but it had a big Roller built in and it would fly and pull as well as any
other motor of the time I loved it especially having been driving an end
of life Volvo F88 which broke down just about every trip.
thanks harry, long retired.

Was the steering wheel offset on those Seddon’s Harry. I drove a Seddon thirteen/four and the steering wheel was offset to the seat in the thing. I wasn’t very impressed with it. Had a Perkins 6354 engine and jerked and jumped and was a rough thing to drive. I much preferred the Leyland Comet with the Ergo cab which was a nice lorry to drive.
Cheers Dave.

A smart ERF on the end of this trio.

Again another angle.

Hiya,
Yes Dave the steering wheel was a bit offset to the drivers seat but I soon got
used to it I never drove the four wheeled rigid’s but obviously the same set-up
regards cab layout, and fully laden as we always were, quite a nice ride and
ultra reliable I never had any down time with mine, for the time they was OK.

A different type of lorry,a four wheeler 16 ton tipper to an artic Harry. I think the Perkins 6354 engine didn’t help. I had a Doge K series as my regular wagon on Brisbanes, and that had the same engine. I found the six wheelers better to drive than a four wheeler. Only had a go in a Guy Warrior artic loaded with scrap steel.
Cheers Dave.

Larry Dunbar had his eye on this Mickey Mouse Foden, and it did leave the show about the same time as Larry.

Big mirrors on this Bedford.

Hiya,
Dave I’ve just seen an article in the Sun that our Dennis Skinner has just ousted
an SNP MP who tried to occupy his well worn seat which he’s sat upon for three
decades, Good on you Dennis for you putting the cheeky young whippersnapper
in his place They’re only one of “Jimmy Krankie’s” lot after all.

Hi cc,
That’s a great pic. There is a member on here whose father drove for W L R Gwilt from Baschurch, Shropshire. Thanks for posting it.
Cheers Dave.
