This Scania was coming out of the Condover road onto the A49 near Bayston Hill,Shrewsbury. We didn’t blow the horn,we had his pic instead.
was he close to the sign or did it look that way because of the angle?

I didn’t really notice at the time Merfyn,as I was driving,he came out of the junction,so I asked Tracy to get a pic.He was pushing his luck a bit,but I was going slow so no harm done, plus its a busy road to get onto.
Cheers Dave.
Dave,
I use that junction quite a lot, its awful trying to get out on to the 49 on my motorbike never mind a loaded truck, as the traffic comes over the hill so quick. Will be going into Condover on Sunday to fix a friends bike.

Hi Trev,
I travel the A49 quite a lot as you can see from the pics and yes it is a difficult place to come out from, had there been nothing behind me I would have flashed him out, which I do there and at Sharpstone Lane with the Tarmac lorries, also they have a slight incline as you know coming out of the Condover junction.Made a good pic from a different angle.
Cheers Dave
A bit of a close up on this Scania with a lowloader trailer, seen on the A49 at Leebotwood,Shropshire.

Hi John,

Cheers Dave.

I know the feeling Dave. lorries dont cross the road as easy as a car. wish there were more people like you around who slow down a bit.
I did the same coming out of Minffordd quarry a few years ago. a car came from somewhere quick and ended up on my front bumper!
Good thing was nobody was hurt only a few dents and scratches on the car and lorry

To be honest Merfyn I don’t drive very fast a all, used to up until a few years ago, always had 2 litre cars, but with my vans I don’t go very fast as the fuel consumption is better driving steady.Another thing these days as you know yourself, the volume of traffic is much greater than it used to be,so you don’t gain anything by going fast, you catch the people that have gone by you at the next set of roadworks etc.
Most of the access from quarries aren’t good, the one’s this way are dangerous,as you say with a loaded lorry you can’t get across the road that quick, quite a few local lorries have had the same happen to them as you did.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Wazzy,

Cheers Dave.
This bit of road in Clungunford B4367 is a horrible narrow squeeze between two houses, this M A N of Jonathan Rogers had just passed a tractor which had disappeared from view, then he met the rest of us.This route is a short cut for a lot of lorries avoiding Leominster and Ludlow.
A Daf plant lorry, seen on the A4113 between Knighton and Ludlow.
One of Southampton haulier Boyes Conning, seen on the A44 in Leominster.
I think jomea might know this one, seen in Leominster lorry park. I think its from Bala,North Wales.
A couple more parked up for the night,in Leominster.
A couple of the South Wales tarmac hauliers artics, parked for the night in Leominster.
A wagon & drag, seen in Leominster for the night.Wonder if this one appeals to Harry Gill
A Daf bulker, seen on the A44 in Leominster.
