Come up here, it’s predictable up here
About -8c in the day, -16c at night, and snow as far as the eye can see.
Come down here you two!
Today it was 71 degrees, three days ago it was down to 38 in the day, freezing at night, then stayed cold in the 40’s all day on Sunday, by midnight Sunday/Monday it was up to 66, stayed around that mark till today, then went up to the 70’s, Dunno what it’ll do tomorrow, they say that “If you don’t like the weather in Georgia, wait a couple of days”
I tried to Cliff… They don’t import truckers no more…
I seem to remember we told you that Alli … way back when

LOL… I warned him 5 years ago… he didn’t listen. I gotta say… last night was among the strangest nights I’ve seen though. The temperature was constantly going up and down by about 10 degrees all evening. We had a little snow, a little rain, some sleet, some hail,… and a thunder & lightning storm in the middle of it all. Totally bizarre.
Going to Georgia isn’t an option for me… unlike Patrick, I want the snow (he’s the one that has to shovel it, I just get to enjoy it!!! LOL)
Well, I’m ready for winter. I put my 4 Nokian snow tyres on my car last wek, and filled the washer reservoir with Prestone winter fluid (need to get some more of that Canadian Tire brand winter fluid next time I go to Toronto…). Let’s hope it isn’t as bad as last winter was!
Yes Pat, you did tell me that a long time ago. And you were right.
So, I got into Canada instead. Close enough
And Canadian Tire is good… got plenty of good stuff for motoring. I’d advise you look in there next time you go to Montreal pat.
The past three to days, high 60’s night time, to low 40’s day time, back up to 60’s night & day, to the high 30’s night time, up to high 60’s for the morning, rapidly dropping back to mid 30’s by lunchtime! almost making it back up to 60 degrees for about an hour late yesterday afternoon, then diving back down to the low 40’s last night. ( which is where it’s been all bloody day )
During the whole period it rained like a monsoon with gale force winds blowing from the South, then from the North, then from the South again before the wind from the North finally won! (although I’m sure there was probably some East & West winds sticking their nose in somewhere & stirring it up a bit! ) during that time we had Thunder, Lightning and Hailstones every few hours. This was despite the fact the weatherman had assured us at the end of each day ( begining Wedensday night ) that the stormy weather was finally over, saying it would be Sunny for the rest of the week, it is now Saturday night and we have’nt seen the Sun since Monday!
If we were as incompetent at our jobs as the weather forecasters are at theirs we would all be out of work, mind you, I s’pose we could apply for a job at the weather centre
Unlike British weather forecasters, US ones don’t have to actually deal with real weather often. They’ve forgotten how to
I like the weatherforecaster up in New Hampshire that Bill Bryson took to task, when during a weather forecast the forecaster said that it would be snowing all night with an accumulation of 12 inches, then telling the viewers that would be about a foot! …as My old mate Bill said, NO! you dummy! 12 inches is’nt ’ about ’ a foot, 12 inches IS A FOOT! Doh!
Anyone read his book “Letter from a Big Country?”, I’ve read it three times, never fails to make me laugh.
…and we’re suffering from 40-60mph winds, right now!
Oh to be sitting in England, on a summer’s day in a beer-garden, enjoying a few decent beers

Shut-up you sod! you would have to get my taste buds and homesickness going again, would’nt you? and I thought you were a mate!, now you’ve already got me drooling over next years ’ English Pub Calender’ and it’s really bad luck to look at next years calender…ooohh woe is me!

Coincidence■■? - I Think Not!
I’m going to pay a visit to my local Beer Store and get some Boddies & John Smiths (Draught In A Can) to last me for a week.
I’m leaving tomorrow, for a 6 day trip, moving seasonal workers to a shipping facility in Wisconsin. Good thing is, I’m done everyday by 5pm, which gives me plenty of time for a few (halway decent) beers before calling it quits for the night.
Oh, and I will also have my supply of Cadbury Dairy Milks (made under licence by Hershey and available at your local Wally-World) with me, too.
Hey, it’s a hard life!
Jim.
Mini rolos, Cadbury’s Creme eggs too!
Weather has really gone bad now, it is so unseasonably cold. The temps went down to 22 degrees two nights in a row, last night was warmer at 31degrees, now they are talking snow flurries for the weekend and poosibly for next weekend (A White Christmas in Georgia? ) Unheard of!, so much for global warming
It does get this cold down here but usually not until Jan//Feb. Even then it can be 20 degrees at night ,then 70 degrees during the day.
Just cuz we live in the South does’nt mean it’s always Hot and Humid (only most of the time) ,.We live in North Georgia, just south of the mountains, so I s’pose we should expect snow every once in a while.
I have had it snow bloody hard on me in Florida, I came through Belleview and Gainsville one night, it snowed so hard traffic was almost at a standstill!. I have seen quite heavy frost as far South as Tampa. I even remember seeing Palm trees in Jacksonville with snow on them!

Ahhh Cliff,
The Southerners do not know how to drive in snow…that’s why the place comes to a standstill.
Talking of snow, myself and two of my collegues have to go Aspen, CO, on Christmas night for 9 days with a school-group from Illinois. Anyone with an ounce of common sense heads for FL, but, not this school!
Hopefully, it will be one of those deals where we drop them and don’t see them until it’s time to leave for home

Thats not quite right Jim, it has nothing to do with southerners not knowing how to drive in the snow, it has more to do with southerners not knowing how to drive!
One of our drivers (the cab happy kid) phoned me a 4.00am the other morning
“Are you on rt 4 in Vermont Pat ?” He asked.
“No! I’m on the Masspike”
“It’s snowing like mad, a foot deep. I’m gonna shut down till it clears” say’s he.
This was an excuse for being late for his drop up in maine, he later phoned the boss to say the weather was so bad he had to shut down. he had phoned me to make sure nobody else had been that way to disprove his excuse.
In truth, … he has as usual over slept
