hi i am looking for the weight of a 1000 x 20 ten stud wheel and tyre, (split rim not tubeless) as i might need to collect 6 maybe 7 if it has a spare hanging off it, alan.
An 11x22.5 tyre is listed as around 55kg, I would expect a 10.00x20 to weigh roughly the same and the three piece rim to weigh a bit more so around 130 kg tyre, tube, flap and rim. Three piece rims were noticeably heavier which is why operators went over to tubeless. If you want an exact weight then Aspect Wheels will be able to answer. You can ‘knee’ a tyre casing onto the back of a lorry but you won’t manage it on the rim. Ex tyre fitters will probably disagree but there is a knack and you need to be tall enough. If the tyre is flat definitely forget it.
thanks for that, i am a retired short ■■■ so loading is out, but in my younger days i would have done it many a time, as you say the flat ones are were the hard bit, alan.
