Can put up with a bollicking and the fixed pen . . who is liable for the fine ? me or the operator?

You same as it would be if you were caught speeding

Hi Griffin560,
That’s true mate, but there might be further implications for the operator, depending on who processes the report and if they feel like causing grief.
An operator can be called before a Traffic Commissioner for vehicles going weight limited areas, and any outcome from the TC could also depend on whether the company have ‘form’ for similar offences.
It’s all to do with the transport operation and adherence to traffic laws.
I hope that a bollocking or small fine will suffice, but it’s fair to say that it might not.
How long before you are notified.?
Havent heard anything yet.
If you come the wrong way into our village there are a couple of pensioners sat with loaded AK47’s and a bottle of elderflower wine for courage.
Have you wondered why there is a weight limit on that particular road?
I’ve been told today that I have gone though a 7.5 limit on what used to be the old A1 now A1246 in my 9 ton lorry. I too would like to know what the fine will be?
