Here’s a Q. 2 weeks ago I had a full weekly rest. Then started on the Monday, worked 6 shifts and finished on Saturday 9pm. Had a reduced weekly rest, then started Monday 7am, worked til 11am then parked up til Thursday 1pm. Worked til 2300 then parked up til 1715 on Saturday. Finished Sunday 6am, had 9 off, started 1500 Sunday, finished at 1915.
Started Monday 0615, finished 1315.
So basically I had a full weekly rest, did a day’s work then had a reduced.
Now my question is Which weekly rest counts as my last one? Can I get away with a reduced weekly rest before Thursday this week, or do I need a full 45 to start before Friday?

If I’m understanding this correctly you had a regular weekly rest period last week from 11:00 Monday to 13:00 Thursday, then had a reduced weekly rest from 23:00 Thursday to 17:15 Saturday.
If that’s correct:
The weekly rest period from Monday to Thursday was a regular weekly rest period for last week.
The reduced weekly rest period from 23:00 Thursday to 17:15 Saturday serves no other purpose than to allow you to start a new set of six 24 hour periods.
Therefore you must start a new weekly rest period no later than 17:15 Friday, this can be a regular or reduced weekly rest period it’s your choice.
In other words you should start at-least a reduced weekly rest period by 17:15 Friday.

Its all about what weekly rest was used for a particular fixed week …
Weekend of 3 + 4 may = regular weekly rest which I assume was the weekly rest for the fixed week 28 april to 4 may
you then did 6 days from bank holiday mon 5 may to sat 10 may
you then had a reduced weekly rest on sun 11 may which was a reduced for the fixed week 5 to 11 may
you then worked mon 12 may for 4 hours
A regular weekly rest was then taken from 11am mon 12 to 1pm thu 15 may which was the regular weekly rest for the fixed week 12 to 18 may
any extra weekly rests are simply extra ones which have not been used as a weekly rest for any fixed week but serve to reset the max 144 hours between weekly rest rule
Extra weekly rests do not need compensating for
you now need a weekly rest for the fixed week 19 to 25 may which can be a regular or reduced as the one for the week before was a regular

In any two weeks you must have either:
- Two regular weekly rest periods
Or
- One regular weekly rest period and one reduced weekly rest period
In other words you must have a regular weekly rest period (45 hours or more) at-least every second week.
You can have two consecutive weekly rest periods but you cannot go two consecutive weeks with only reduced weekly rest periods.
You had two weekly rest periods last week, one regular (Monday to Thursday) and one reduced (Thursday to Saturday), the regular weekly rest period will count for last week so even if you had a reduced weekly rest period this week you would not be going two consecutive weeks with only reduced weekly rest periods.

You can, you could have several consecutive reduced weekly rest periods provided in any 2 fixed weeks there is at least one regular weekly rest period.
You could start on a Monday morning after a weeks holiday and therefore have a regular weekly rest period which is counting for the current week and do a couple of days and have a reduced weekly rest. Work another day or two and have another reduced weekly rest and repeat that sort of pattern over that week and the next two and as long as you started a regular weekly rest by 23:59 on the Sunday at the end of the third week you would be legal and could have had taken at least 6 reduced weekly rest periods in a row, only one of which would need compensating for.
