Hi all, just wondering is it possible to do
Week 1 45 HR rest
Week 2 24hr rest
Week 3 24hr rest
Week 4 45hr rest
I am a UK driver currently doing rota work
I’ve always done 45 24 45 24 but was wondering is it possible to do 45 24 24 45
Week 1 Mon to Fri (45hr rest)
Week 2 Mon to Fri but planning to do work rest day shift on either sat or sun
Week 3 Mon Tue, Wed, Thur, (FRI OFF,) Sat, Sun
Week 4 Mon, Tue, (WED OFF), (THUR OFF) Fri, Sat, Sun
So it’s 45,24,24,45
So is it possible to work the weekend on week 2either sat or sun on the picture attached?
Any help will be appreciated if possible to do it.
Drivers’ hours weekly rest of 45 hours, which can be reduced to 24 hours, provided at least one full rest is taken in any fortnight. There should be no more than six consecutive 24 hour periods between weekly rests.
In summary if a HGV driver begins work at 7.00am on day 1 they must by 7.00am on day 2 have completed one of the following:
A regular daily rest period of 11 hours uninterrupted
A split regular daily rest period of 12 hours, taken in two separate periods, the first being a minimum of 3 hours and the second at least 9 hours
A reduced daily rest period, only if entitled, of a minimum of 9 hours uninterrupted (but not over 11 hours)
Generally:
You the driver do not to pick and choose which two weeks have one reduced and one full weekly rest.
Any and every two week period counts.
In your scheme it appears you have two reduced weekly rests back-to-back, so, it is not legal.
All assuming you are under EU rules, as most UK drivers are, no special circumstances.
And are your reduced rests really 24 hrs? Or 36?
It pays to be more accurate with exact times for a more exact reply.
It’s definitely more then 24 hour rest my reduced rests and usually easily compensated, usually 36-38hr reduced rest.
Would this mean I can do the Sunday as work rest day shift? On week 2? I realised it’s going to look like 2 reduced rest on the trot but it’s followed by 45 so thought maybe it would be possible?
