Weekly rest peroid under EC rules

Hello everybody. I have question about weekly rest peroids. I know that in 2 week peroid lets say:
Monday 00:00 1st week - Sunday 24:00 2nd week

I must take minimum one 45 hours rest peroid and one 24 hours peroid. So does it must be 1 rest peroid per week, I mean after 6 x 24 hours = Saturday - Sunday night 00:00 and I have to take weekly rest peroid?

Let’s say I took rest peroid like that, and in next second week I take 45 hours at the end of second week - 45 rest peroid ends Sunday - Monday night 00:00.

Then, how long rest peroids I have to take in third and fourth week?

Thanks a lot, I will be very grateful. Greetings for all users of this forums - you are very helpful people!

Surely you taking a 45 hour break from Sunday to Monday night would be an infringement because that would make it 15 days, not 14 days (2 weeks)

Straight from the gov website -

an unbroken rest period of 45 hours every week - you can reduce this to 24 hours every other week

gov.uk/drivers-hours/eu-rules

From your post is seems as though you are thinking that weekly rests periods must fit within (inside) a fixed week - if so that is incorrect

For a weekly rest period to be used for a fixed week it only needs to be at least 1 minute in that fixed week

  • In any fixed week that you drive in-scope of EU regulations you need to have a weekly rest period.
  • A weekly rest period that crosses 2 weeks (goes over Sunday midnight) can count for either week but not both.
  • You need to have a 45 hour weekly rest period at-least every second week.
