Weekly rest period.

Last week i worked until thursday, had friday off, worked saturday, sunday off and was back in on monday a.m through till thursday this week. My driving time dos’nt come into it as ive only done about 3.5 hours driving time a day this week per 8 hour shift.
Im off today (friday) and need to work another weekend shift- this weekend, either sat or sun. (12 hour shift on paper but it will be considerably less  )
Can i work the saturday?
Il be off on Sunday and be back in on monday night about 21.00.
Way i see it is, last week i would have had a clear rest period of 24 hours so this weekend i need a clear 45 hours rest, or am i into WTD rules here and not tacho.■■

Its normaly clear cut for me but my shifts are like a mad womens crap at the moment, ie, all over the place!

What hours would you be working if you did the Saturday? Wouldn’t you get 45 in from finishing that shift until 21:00 on Monday evening? You’d have to be done for midnight Saturday.

Yes, good point. Easily i’d get 45 in that way. The other way i was thinking was to start work at 12.30 Saturday dinner time. I’d be finished about 18.00 or 19.00 sat night at the latest and start again 22.00 on monday night so thats easily another 45 there.
Just wanted to avoid working sunday day time. I didnt know i could take the 45 AFTER my weekend shift.
SO, As long as i could take the 45 AFTER the saturday shift, i’d be legal?
Bearring in mind my last 24 hours unbroken rest period was from last saturday afternoon (14.00 ish) until last monday morning at 07.00.

Yep, as long as you can get at least 45 hours in between finishing your Saturday shift and starting Monday then you are 100% legal. If it was a Saturday night shift you would have to be finished by 07:00 Sunday, see below.

You have a maximum of 144 hours between ending one weekly rest and starting the next. So, in your current situation you must begin a weekly rest no later than 07:00 Sunday.

Thanks Coffee, you’ve been a great help.
Cheers.
