I’ve had a look at lots of guides but most of them seem to brush over the fact that taking my weekly rest can be done on Sunday and Monday but not how it affects the rest of my week.
So for example.
Week 1
Mon Rest
Tue 10h
Wed 10h
Thu 10h
Fri 10h
Sat 10h
Sun Rest
Week 2
Mon Rest
Tue 10h
Wed 10h
Thu 10h
Fri 10h
Sat 10h
Sun 10h
Week 3
Mon Rest
Tues Rest
Wed 10h
Thu 10h
Fri 10h
Sat 10h
Sun 10h
In week 4 I’d need to take an extended weekly rest to compensate week 2 yes?
Feel silly asking as I understand the rules with the exception of when the weekly rest straddles over 2 different weeks.

A weekly rest period that crosses over 2 weeks (Sunday/Monday) can be used for either week but not both.
So a weekly rest period on Sunday and Monday counts as a regular weekly rest period that can be used for either week that it crosses but not both weeks.
In you’re example you’ve had Monday off in week 1 which by itself means a reduced weekly rest period for week 1.
You’ve then had the following Sunday and Monday off which will count as a regular weekly rest period for week 2.
You’ve then done another 6 shifts before having the Monday and Tuesday off which will count as a regular weekly rest period for week 3.
The only compensation required would be for week 1 if the only days rest was the first Monday.
Compensation has to be paid back by the end of the third week following the week in which the reduced weekly rest period was taken, if Monday of week one was the only days rest it would need to be compensated for by the end of week 4.
I think we need more information because it could be that the first Monday off was a reduced or part of a regular for the week before week 1 and the sun/mon off was a regular for week 1 with the mon/tue off a regular for week 2
realised i made a mistake actually in week 1! ill add the week before as week 0 - probably makes most sense
Week 0

After looking again, am i right in saying week 0 weekly rest is wed thurs, week 1 reduced weekly rest from thu, week 2 weekly rest from sun (week1) and mon, so i’d need to compensate in week 3 by either taking sunday week 2 or wed week 3 off?
Week 1. Reduced weekly rest (Sunday of week 0 or Thursday of week 1 whichever leaves the least compensation).
Week 2. Regular weekly rest (Sunday of week 1 and Monday of week 2).
Week 3. Regular weekly rest (Monday/Tuesday).
As I said in my previous post compensation has to be paid back by the end of the third week following the week in which the reduced weekly rest was taken.
So the compensation for week 1 should be paid back by the end of week 4.
Having said that, if Sunday of week 0 is used as a reduced weekly rest period for week 1 the compensation may be paid back on the following Thursdays day off, it’s not possible to say for certain without knowing start and finish times.
