Weekend working

Hi

I work (drive) Monday to Friday every week, if I work a Saturday, do I have to have the next 2 weekends off?

Many thanks

no

What about catching up with my weekly rest periods?

I’m not the brightest bulb in the box  so could you let me know what days I can work please?

I drive Monday to Friday every week, if I drive on a Saturday, do I have to have the next weekend off but I’m then ok yo drive the following Saturday? I thought I could not drive for the following two weekends? Have I got it wrong?

You have to have 45 hrs off every weekend but can reduce that down to 24 hrs but those missing 21 hrs have to be payed back by the end of the 3rd week after you’ve reduced.
You must have at least 45 hrs off every other week so it depends when you finish on the Saturday and when you start on the Monday as to how many Saturdays you can do, but certainly working every other Saturday shouldn’t be a problem.
Hopefully that might help.

How about this - driving legally for 2 weekends in 3 with a non driving mon to fri job viewtopic.php?f=2&t=93127&start=30#p1338099 but if you have a driving job under EU or domestic regs then that will not be of any help !!

If you have roughly 36 hours off one weekend and then 60 hours of the next weekend then all will be fine

As a general rule if you work Monday to Friday you can then work every other Saturday and remain legal. The reduced rest on the weekend you work Saturday will in almost all situations be repaid the following weekend when you have both days off. To be 100% certain of this you would need to give us some example start and finish times so we can work out exactly how much weekly rest you’re actually getting.

However you must also remember if your job involves a lot of driving that you need to stick within the 90h fortnightly driving limit. If you’re working 11 shifts over the fortnight (6 one week and 5 the next) it’s easy to go over that 90h limit as it only allows an average driving time of just over 8h per shift.
