DCPC course tutor … bet they were not part of a LGV training school
The regs clearly state that for a weekly rest to belong to a fixed week it must be IN that week with the word IN meaning at least 1 minute into that week be it Sunday 2359 or Monday 0001 depending which fixed week you need it to belong to
OK, it does not say 1 minute but by default most will not record less than a minute
Exactly as I thought Rog ,it’s a mate who told me this , whether he has misunderstood or tutor ( from driving school )has it wrong I don’t know.
Thanks Rog , any more now ? !

- A weekly rest period that falls in two weeks may be
counted in either week, but not in both.
If the weekly rest period had to be completed by 24:00 Sunday it couldn’t fall in 2 weeks, the fact that the regulations say it can fall in 2 weeks shows that it does not have to be completed by midnight Sunday.
Thank you very much my two main men on drivers hours ,this problem was given to me by a workmate , I hope it helps anyone else in doubt about weekend rest .
I now have to convince my mate , It may take a while , but I will cope.
Jim
The confusion here could be calling it “Weekend Rest”, it is actually “Weekly Rest” and can be taken anytime in the week, I often had mine on Wednesday and Thursday and the weekend days were normal driving days.
Thank you Martin ,point taken
