there is a pub in lymm services, again this is a services off a junction, but the difference is?
What a great idea, we could all spend our 45 minute breaks putting the world to rights knocking back 3 or 4 pints with a couple of whiskey chasers, then get straight back on it.
56 mph high as a kite, never mind, at least the Government will get the National Debt down with all the Duty they charge on the booze.

News: Wetherspoon’s PUBS at motorway services – MSAInfoUKNews: Wetherspoon’s PUBS at motorway services
Extra, M40, News, Wetherspoon’s
According to several news articles, Wetherspoon’s are due to open the motorway’s first pub at Beaconsfield on the M40, operatoed by Extra. But the Deaprtment for Transport clearly state that alcohol is not to be sold at motorway services. However, the rule is currently being reconsidered, and if the rule is withdrawn, the pub will open in a few months’ time.
I have purchased wine in M&S on the motorway

The difference is that motorway services are owned by the government and leased out to the operators with a whole load of conditions attached. A services built on a piece of land that just happens to be next to a motorway junction is that it is not subject to the same conditions. It’s just like for instance, a shopping centre and only subject to conditions laid down by local planning departments.

yes but what i meant was you are just as close to the motorway and if you parked up there overnight then chances are you will be getting straight onto the motorway, so in them terms theres no diffrence to an off junction services and an msa.
