Yeah cheers NMM

FTTM its all your fault  My friend delivered some beds to our new house over there yesterday and had to dig the drive out first

Only another foot or so tomorrow , which is a day closer to Spring

Oh whoopie doo, I’m heading right into that, can’t wait

Good luck with your new job Russ…

It’s definetly tough at first, getting settled in your home, getting bank accounts, trying to become credit worthy in Canada just to get a basic mobile phone contract is tricky, studying and taking the class 1 in unfamiliar equipment in the snow and ice… hopefully all this will be easier for you as you have some friends there who can guide you through it all.

Its all worth the hassle though… i’m still enjoying it and so busy i’m just not getting the time to post stuff on here.!!

Have fun…

Helloooooooooooo from Canada lol, been here just over a week now and all is good, got a house for me and the family and bought a bargain motor from the auction on saturday too - work is going well but will be better when i get out of the classroom and on the road - written tests tomorrow then about 7 or 8 days driving before sitting my test - will keep you posted

Old news mate :open_mouth: Read this on that other site a few days ago :unamused: That place is nowhere near as good as this site and there’s no DH on here posting 45pages of drivel  Although if you check out some of the other forums, you’ll see we have our own versions here :open_mouth:

I was in Regina yesterday, blimey they’ve had a beating from the snow, never seen anything like it, hwy1 from Moose Jaw to Regina was like driving through a canyon the snow was so high, it warmed up nicely in the daytime, but coming across from Calgary it was in the -20s

Anyway, good luck with everything, hopefully you’ll be able to carry on with the posts telling us exactly what the job is all about

That was last Thursday , out in the valley the snow ploughs couldn’t break through the drifts so excavators were used , then 6 extra loaders were hired to clear routes ,it was messy . The grid roads are now like bobsleigh runs .

Yeah, Thursday, I came out of Kamloops BC, switched with one of ours in Canmore AB, went back to Vancouver, tipped, reloaded and got back to Calgary before the bloke I switched with made it to Regina :sunglasses:

Just thought I’d post another update as its quite relevant to our situation - I’m now a fully qualified driver having passed my class 1 test today, now for another 2 days training to learn how to pull ā€˜pikes’

Excellent news Russ , welcome the band of idiots  Not that hard once you’ve got your head around the pre trip and air , well done . With luck on your side you’ll miss the final dump this weekend and be cruising all summer long , Congrats and well done to Rob Davis eh ?

Absolutely mate, there was 4 Brits went for test (yes, another one has deserted the ranks lol) and all of us passed so hats off to Rob for doing a top job and thanks mate hopefully see you pounding the bumpy tarmac at some point lol

Well Done Russ!,

You will never look at your coffee table and chairs in the same way again!

I passed through Regina yesterday (Wednesday) looked like i was passing through the aftermath of a canny bit of snow (and ice)… the ā€˜bumpy’ roads were clear tho… then thought i would press on to Saskatoon… roads still clear… pressed on a bit more…10 mins later snow, loads of it, blazing down… 10 mins later couldn’t see the road or even the roadsigns, I crawled along at about 40kph for hours and hours trying to get to Lloydminster, couldnt even see the parking areas, sliproads and wishing id’e stopped earlier… ahh well, you will have all this to come at the end of the year i guess.

as Mick says above, you couldn’t have started at a better time… roll on Summer! :sunglasses:

Well done Russ, just remeber to keep that hideous monstrosity of a pike way over to the right so I don’t knock your mirrors off when I fly by
