i am literally on the verge of wasting my money passing everyone I have rang want at least 1 years driving experience. How are you supposed to get Experience if no one will give you the opportunity
The age old story, worldwide. Set your expectations lower until you have the magic twelve months.
Agencies seem to be the go in your country.
that’s with going with agencies
Keep trying and you’ll get a foot in the door somewhere.
Whereabouts in the country are you based? There may be somebody nearby that can point you in the right direction.
Try looking on somewhere like indeed - stuff does come up with no exp needed.
Dunno where you’re located… for North West there’s a FB page where jobs advertised too - again, some with no exp.
Quite possibly they’re jobs most wouldn’t want - but a foot in the door
There must be one of the pallet delivery companies near you, go and see if they will agree to take you on forklift driving/warehouse/van driving etc to get to know you as a hard working helpful employee, and then promote you to rigids after a while, and then artics as a vacancy arises maybe a year later. You need to gain the experience and they need to know what you are like.
I’m Grimsby but everywhere i have tried all want 1 year minimum
As said above join an agency be prepared to accept any job going to gain experience then move on. Maybe even settle for doing some class 2 work.
Poundland will usually take on new pass drivers if there’s a depot near you.
I know it’s hard mate, but tbf you should have done the research instead of believing all the ‘driver shortage’ dog sh they try and tell us about,.and the wonderful pay rates we are all supposed to be on…to get you to ‘sign up’.
There is a driver shortage in respect of good old style experienced drivers, because a lot have jacked this sh industry, due to crappy firms,.DCPC, ridiculous hours, and all the rest of it.
No offence…but no shortage of drivers like you, new passes wanting a start who swallowed all the hype.
A harsh reality to face mate, but I do hope you get sorted eventually, seriously.
Good luck.
May not be true now but the food delivery firms like Brakes, Booker or Creed seemed to accept they would need new passes onboard to counteract the amount of graft often needed on the job, putting more experienced drivers that prefer an easy life, from taking the vacancies.
It is all a matter of luck. I passed my car test in the morning, all that was need for a 21 year old in those long gone days, and got a job driving a little lorry in the afternoon. First foot on the ladder. But it could have been so different, even then firms were choosy, but I got lucky first time. Just keep at it and tell yourself that this one is your first time and before long it will be.
My young brother, years ago and looking for a change, decided that what I was doing was the way to go. He went to a local haulier, K & M, and they trained him and put him through the test and then gave him a job. Are there no firms like that these days?
Send your CV to anyone & everyone.
Don’t ring round, don’t send out cv’s-go knocking on doors, introduce yourself, be polite, interested in what they have to say, if you have the time offer to go out with one of their drivers for the day, have all the necessary PPE with you, it’s amazing how meeting someone can change their opinion instead of just a random voice on the phone. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

George Revill Haulage Ltd
At face value that’s an interesting advert. To the point where maybe it’s worth going there in person to request an interview.
The problem with that strategy is that taking that type of crap distribution work doesn’t miraculously then open doors to the better oversubscribed jobs reserved for those ‘experienced’ drivers.
Even taking the ‘wrong’ type of class 1 work won’t cut it.
Bearing in mind an anti road transport country dedicated to taking as many trucks and drivers off the roads as possible.
Getting a start and career progression after has always been a lottery in this industry.Moreso in this political and trading environment.
Maybe not in your world, but the industry is full of drivers who started on less than desirable work before moving onto better things, myself included. Not every driver out there thinks a job that might involve something other than literally sitting on your arse all day behind the steering wheel is “crap”
Just because you failed miserably in this game, please stop generalizing a whole industry based on your measly experience.
Not familiar with the Grimsby area but do any of the big logistic companies such as DHL, GXO, Culina, Wincanton etc have any contracts there? They are usually pretty good at giving newbies a start as they tend to have warehouse to wheels type things in place.
Tesco Goole is not a million miles from you. Sure they will be run by one of the companies mentioned above.
Have you tried Lineage on the docks? I don’t work for them anymore but I’m sure there were some new passes at the Heywood depot when I was there.
There’s likely a few smaller setups down that way too, you’d have to walk in and speak to them. Good luck
