Waste Licence for Export Loads?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if you need a waste licence to collect scrap metal loads in the UK for export to Italy ?

I have been asked the question and I don’t know the answer, but I do know you need a waste licence to move scrap in the UK.

So, could you please enlighten me.

Best Regards

Yeah you would need one as your still driving in the uk with it. Not a major thing there about 150 quid for three years.

If you’re taking it on to the continent yourself you’ll also need “A boards” on the front and rear of your truck. I also used to have reems of paperwork from various German regions and a route I had to stick to, though that could have been because it was also an ADR load as well. This was all over 5 years ago now so my memory is a bit hazy but there was a huge amount of paperwork involved and the presence of A boards was like a flashing beacon to the ■■■■ Turpin’s of Europe who loved to pounce on you to try and catch you out on some small technicality or another. I would hope there would be less BS with something such as scrap metal and other non-ADR loads but who can say in this day and age of total bureaucracy.

Many thanks Guys for the info, I will look into it a bit more now.
