Washing the wagon

Paid by the hour, plus we have a drive through conveniently situated near to the coffee machine and the smoking shelter. Bit of a no brainer really. Plus we have nationwide depots with the same facilities.

Personal pride won’t let me take a dirty vehicle out, and the biggie (in my mind) is that VOSA et al seem blind to clean trucks! Again a no brainer.

Mine is washed daily to get the crap off, unless I had a night out then it has two days of dirt on it. Other then that I use the stuff in the yard

I am agency what’s washing a truck?

The last time I washed the truck, I pulled a muscle in my back and was off work and lost two days pay.

So no, I don’t wash trucks anymore.

I buy my own stuff to keep it clean, and make it smell nice.

I wont buy anything other than 99p shop stuff and that was because I didn’t know what condition the lorry would be in when I got it. I’m of the opinion that if your employer wants clean motors, they should provide the stuff to do it, and the time to do it in.

agency that come to my place always wash trucks

Muckaway:
Does anyone do it in their own time?

Me.

I wash my lorry every time I get back to yard unless weather stops

Yep I am salaried also clean the inside with my own stuff that I bought as like it clean

Being salaried wouldn’t necessarily stop me from washing my truck. In fact, if you’re sailed as close to the 48 hour average as your boss dares then cleaning your truck is just time you’d otherwise spend doing something else. If you have a truck wash then it’s 10 or so minutes down the drain every day. An hour a week for free basically.

I like to have a clean truck and are paid by the hour plus we have a proper truck wash so I use it all the time. Bare minimum i’ll clean the mirrors and windows every morning. Quite how some drivers get through the day without crashing with how grotty some of our mirrors and windows get is anyone’s guess.
