Warning - clearstone ceased trading!

Rikki-UK:
NOTICE

We have had discussions with the owner of ClearwayLGV

Clearway has been trading since 2006 and there is no indication what so ever that they are connected in anyway with Clearstone.

Unless you can prove ANY company is connected to Clearstone please do not post. This post has already led to some unfortunate incidents at Clearway as there are a lot of people very angry at Clearstones collapse.

When i visit the clearway site using the link you provided, i click on FAQ’s and it sends me to RAC forums with ‘Timborrosso’ commenting about wether LGV’s are good or bad?!

and this looks interesting !!

WHAT IS LGV/HGV?

LGV long goods vehicle

HGV heavy goods vehicle

On the DVLA forms, the Long Goods Vehicle forms have two sections:
PCV (People Carrier Vehicles) and HGV.

There are two types of LGV vehicles

  1. CLASS C- regid vehicle all in one unit and east to control
  2. CLASS C+E an articulated lorry where the cab separates from the trailer.

Once you have either or both of these licence you can have additional courses like mechanical arms, dangerous goods, chemicals, flammable etc the more qualified the more you earn.

:unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I always thought LGV stood for LARGE Goods Vehicle, whether it is long or not.

For starters, what about the Long Heavy Goods Vehicle?!

Nice to see that we can now carry passengers!

What are north, south and west used for on rigids?!?!?

Even on the buses we can earn more with a HIAB (is the obesity crisis really getting that bad■■?  ) and an ADR (now that you think about it, I can see the point of this!!!  )

  1. CLASS C+E an articulated lorry where the cab separates from the trailer.

Surely that would be a fail or a major fault :stuck_out_tongue:

you put your passangers in the back of the truck and get the fares of them before they enter

I wonder how many DSA registered instructors Clearway LGV employ?

Why would it matter if they were DSA registered or not

If they are agents as Clearstone where then they would employ non at all.
Simply farm the students out to whatever driving school can fit them in.

Are these people English■■? I wonder about that as there is certainly something in the grammar that is not quite right.

LONG Goods Vehicle?? instead of Large Goods Vehicle
People Carrier Vehicles ■■? instead of Passenger Carrying Vehicles.
Surely this could have easily been checked on the DSA site by whoever compiled the website - could he/she read English properly.

burnie1:

Hi burnie1, I’m not sure whether you know this, but the DSA registration scheme is presently entirely voluntary. :open_mouth:

Also, the DSA registration scheme is merely a test of whether the instructor is at the same standard of knowledge and driving ablity as that expected of test candidates.

The fact that an instructor is or isn’t on the DSA voluntary register is NO reflection on the instructor’s ability to give tuition.
It might surprise you to learn that there is currently NO benchmarked standard of training in the giving of tuition for prospective LGV instructors.
In fact, they need NO formal training at all. :open_mouth:

IMHO, using DSA registration alone as a way of knowing whether an instructor is any good at their job could be very misleading, since pass rates might be a better indicator.

I have emailed Timborrosso and told him about this. I wondered if he knew his name was being used?

HERE IS ONE - POOR SOD BUT NOW GOT HIS MONEY BACK

Iam saddened to hear so many folks have been ripped off. I sat a course (CE) wth them late last year. They were supposed to help me find class1 work …surprise surprise not a jot of assistance, I was always phoning Brian they never once phoned me with jobs. Luckily for me it has a happy ending I found work with present employer…just changed depot…(took 5 months though)

Sincerly hope those out of pocket get their own happy ending

They had 1000 pound plus out of me and were still tryig hard to flog me a guaranteed pass and fast tracking CPC etc before i sat my test.

Jacko

I feel really sorry for you guys its a lot of money…

look what i found it made me laugh…

Interesting… This website has now dissapeared. Well at least I cant find it.
Now does that make you wonder…

BUT … Now there is another that has appeared with a totally different spec. Says it is ‘Personal’ But offering package deals.
And it is right up there on Google sponsored links.
Lets watch this space.
