i over heard walker crisps driver earn about 37 grand a year if thats much true then count me in lol
Alien Ressurection!
Wheel Nut:
Yeah they are nice yellow trucks, new trucks, health cover, full uniform and wet weather gear, subsidised canteen, free computer access and social club. Cheap Air Travel, Staff Shop, ETCI earn over £19500 for 40 hours a week.
Somehow it doesnt work out at £5 per hour.I left a job earning 25k because of these benefits.
Maybe DHL didnt want you!
Not to mention even a marker light out and the vehicle goes nowhere, free DCPC training, family friendly hours - no working daft hours, if you split your break as in 15 followed by 45, its DHL policy to have 2x30min breaks, if your breaks is 45, they want you to take 50, if you split as in 2x30, they want to stay on the safe side so just have 2x35, if I work 10 hours and have had a split break of 1:10mins I still get paid 9.5 hours. Working for DHL suits me,
TONY:

Does anyone know who deals with Walkers Agency work? I’m off to register with a couple on Monday and have a couple of job interviews (as I’m temporarily unemployed at the moment). I might even ring them direct on Monday. Thanks.
Ian.
give em a ring ian. my mate jacked on friday so there`s a job going. he said it was the easiest job in the world but he missed european work. rgds jon
Thanks John, I’ll definatley give 'em a buzz and let you know how I get on. BTW, the job a 11 quid an hour was for real, but it was for warehourse work. I just couldn’t stand that. Besides it’s been a struggle so far but I still want to drive bendys.
full time at walkers have just had a pay rise, there on 27k now for 50 hours per week! 33 days holiday, final salary pension, free shares after a qualifying period. CHEAP CRISPS . my mate rumpo said the worst bit was all the training he had to do! a full week in class!! they even had him climbing in and out of a cab about five times in a row (he`s a fat git and six foot two

At least your not chucked in at the deep end. Now where have I heard that before?
When I worked at Somerfield/Kwik Save at Sherburn for Exhell, sorry,Exel,we used to back load at the Walkers Peterlee plant for Warrington, and I must say,it was as easy as pie.
‘Just back onto that bay driver and you’ll know we’ve finished loading your trailer when the lights on green.’
Can’t get better than that. Also a susidised canteen, free crisps,as long as you ate them in the canteen, and a feel good factor about the place, made me want to move back north again.(Or maybe not.)
If you have the opportunity to work there, then grab it.
Ken.

wheelnut, sorry mate i ain’t mentioned anything about shunting in the warehouse
the remarks i made was in fun about the remarks thebigone made about the job he was offered, but he said that it was in a warehouse, for 11pounds an hour
Nope, I’m suprised he didn’t make a comment about that, but if he wants 'em he can have 'em, although the offer was from a good mate of mine and might just refer to me. I do know they pay generally £7.50 per hour the work with overtime at time and a half after eight.
I gave Walkers a ring today after I’d registered with a couple of agencys and was told no we don’t have need of drivers but make sure you pick up the local paper on Wednesday. Hmmm . Might sound promising that. Think I’ll start making a nuiscance of myself at Samworth Brothers and ANC in Leicester. DHL have said give me a ring back next week and we’ll sort you someting out night trunking
.

Nope, not trying to dig a hole for myself. In this case they’re blue with white writing. Jammy might have something to say on the subject .
Sorry kitkat, I just reread the post and realise you were on a different subject.
