I see Wal-Mart was advertising for Class A truck drivers in the Toronto Sun last week.Night shift.All the hours you can work at $14.05 an hour.No overtime rates.No benefits,unless you pay for them.Oh yes .This is exactly why these outfits look to the UK for drivers.According to the illustrious drivers that have moved to the greener pastures of Canada these are great jobs and you should definitely move your family to Canada to grab such a prize job. If it wasn’t so sad it would be funny.
Hahahahahah Robbbbbie hun you really have to get out more Walmart doesnt pay anyone more than 14.00 per hour including their upper management, they are the bottom of the barrel as far as jobs go. You should be able to do alot better than that come on. Maybe try UPS or someone who actually is an employer not a sweat shop.

I have never heard of Wally mart trying to hire from europe, and 1 job posting in the Sun is most definitly not a representation of all other jobs in Canada. Stop generalising wally

Take a look at my post about pay on the uk forum muppet.Appears that my salary has more than doubled since moving here,will help you with the maths if required,company obviously under value me and I so regret swapping my three bed semi for the mansion,btw my family love the place too.

Hey,we bite on this rubbish everytime,but it’s good entertainment,you’ve got to laugh.
i cannot think that walmart transport is too much different in canada,but in the states its tough to get a driving job with them, one friend of mine has worked there several years and grosses around $80,000 a year and by all accounts they treat their drivers well,so unless its drastically different i wouldnt call them the bottom of the barrel

As a US based driver I can tell you this … Walmart drivers are about the best paid in the entire continent. Walmart have no need to import drivers from any other country because drivers here would gladly give their right arms to driver as a Walmart company driver.
The pay, conditions and benefits far outway all other companies. Walmart drivers are in a class of their own here. Remember how Tesco drivers wore white shirts with ties ? … thats walmart over here.
If you have any questions about driving for walmart why don’t you ask a driver who is quite happy working for them ? … ‘Remy’ has driven for them since I have known him, he is a member on here so look him up and ask the truth.
Driving for a contractor such as NFI or Hunts etc is a different thing, it’s a bit like driving a Tesco truck but working for a cheap company like Stobbarts.

The $14.00 an hour is the starting pay for a shop assistant and is missleading. The shop staff get a pay increase every year or so and can get quite good pay when you consider most shops and stores pay minimum wage which is almost half that $14.00.
It’s no different to Tesco’s when I worked there, we drivers got very good pay compared to shop assistants.

A full time employee at Walmart will still earn more than most drivers at H&R or BFS

That’s a good question.
The answer is that Robbie doesn’t break forum rules anywhere near as often as some, unlike somebody (no names ) who recently employed an auto-censor dodge in a topic title and caused a mod to have to manually edit every post.
I could go on a bit here, but I think (hope) I’ve made my point.

I see your point but in my oppinion he breaches lots of rules, I have been barred from many a forum for far less annoying things than he does.
From what i see he seems to be someone who would really love thet chance to move across the pond but either couldn’t hack it or is too useless to get a sponser or a company to take him on. He is so plainly jealous.

If you think anybody’s post breaches forum rules, then please don’t hesitate to hit the ‘report’ (triangular) button that’s at the top right of every post. That way, the problem will be noticed by the Mod Team and dealt with very quickly, and it’s confidential too!!
