No, not Yorkshire…

Too flat to be Yorkshire lol

France?

France?

Yep. Too many vines for Yorkshire too!

“Yorkshire” is a hint to the name rather than the actual location, but an obtuse one.

Is it ’ up north’ in France ? Champagne country… As in 'it’s grim up north ? ’

It`s not in the norf.

And “grim up north” isnt the phrase I was thinking of. More "Im from Yorkshire, **** *** ****** "

From a different angle…
It`s not Tyneside.

You missed a star…God’s own country

Lonewolf Yorks:
You missed a star…God’s own country

My bad…
Yep, that was the phrase I was thinking of.

It might not tell you where I was, but the name will have relevance.

Near Nancy Meurtre et Moselle ?

Near Nancy Meurtre et Moselle ?

Nope.
Nearer somewhere far brighter.

The Vatican?

Lonewolf Yorks:
The Vatican?

Weelll…
If I said “Yes” to that I would be very misleading.
But there is a link in the area. And I`ve dropped hints to the name of the link.

As a recap

To the place I`m actually at.
“Gods own country” and as you noted it is flat in this bit.

To another nearby town`s name: “bright” .

Another town, slightly further off: Not Geordies nor Lymies… And there is a link to the Vatican although that isn`t the first thought of most.

Not Tynesiders, nor Staffies, nor even those Aussies near to Sydney, are in the close-by town mentioned above.

No more tries?

I am after the name of one of 22(?) Named Villages in the South of France.

Town nearby with nominal links to Tyneside, Staffs, NSW, and others.
Papal links too.

Another town nearer is very brightly named.

This Village is a flat area in an otherwise hilly region, which is reflected in the name.

Oh well, I`ll pull a cork on a CDR and come back tomorrow.

Hmmmmm

Chateauneuf (Newcastle) Staffs and Tyneside

Orange also one in NSW.

Avignon, Papal city at one time

Dunno what you’re on about with ‘bright’ (Brillante)

More than 22 villages in France?

Chateauneuf du Pape?

Closing in for sure.

New Castle of the Popes…Yes… ChateauNeuf Du Papes
Newcastle in Tyne, Staffs and NSW.

I didn`t know there was another Orange in NSW ! Serendipity I guess.

Yes, correct area for sure.

Ch du P, CDR, Villages, but which one?

Once you get it, youll know. Gods own…

Yes, about 22 Villages.
Obviously more than 22 villages in France.

Aha! Cotes de Rhone Villages…

Condrieu?

Gods own condrieu■■? :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

And nearby St Clair…

Cotes de Rhone Villages, Yes.
Not Condrieu though.

I guess a little school-boy French is necessary to translate the name. And you noted straight off it is flat.

The actual place…which isn`t an actual village, but is a CDR Village, is nearer ChateauNeuf du Pape and closer still to Orange.
The area name does appear on maps, but not as a village name. Just as up by Condrieu we have Côte-Rôtie, but no actual village called that.
