Waeco tropicool 35

anyone have one of these boxes …im fed up of buying cheap ones that dont last so im gona soend a little more …our even one of the waeco cool freeze

I have a CF-45 in the lorry and a CF-50 in my land cruiser. Your better off getting one with the compressor. They work a lot better, but cost a lot more. A new CF-45 is about £500. Just look on ebay, I got both for less than £250 (yes thats for both)

do they freeze well

Only if its cold outside

The CF models will go down to -18.

lol

not sure which one to go for …just want one that wil last a while

I’ve also got a CF45 and they are a great bit of kit - They do go down to minus 18 but as there are no compartments you would have to freeze everything so this is not a good point in a truck :frowning:

They are really quiet though and I can’t hear mine at night and I have also left it on for 5 days without moving the truck and it started no problem

It is quite big though and takes up all of the space on the passenger side floor in a Scania with the seat up

Got a cf25. Perfectly good for a week away. for an idea of size heres what i put in it on a monday.

2x1 litre cartons of fresh juice
1x1 litre of milk
8x yogurts
3x packs of 2 chicken breasts or pork
3x packs of cold meats e.g ham, beef, pork etc
1x pack of green beans or other veg
1x small bag of shallots or onions
1x pack of gouda chesse etc
1x block of butter
1x tomato sauce bottle
1x jar of pickle
also keep all my cutlery and tin opener in there. its also tall enough to stand 2 litre bottles of water up.

Heres a link where i bought mine. Had it 3 years and never let me down

Not quite right. The CF-45 has 2 parts. The basket, that can go down to minus 18 and the small part that is just a fridge, leaving food in this part, it will not freeze. Same goes for my CF-50.

I can fit 32 cans of larger in the CF-50

Cheers mate I never knew that!! I know the small compartment/step you are talking about - I’ll have to try that sometime

bloody hell you lads have some cash to flash about, i just use the cheap coolboxes till it breaks then spend £40 on another. i find the cheap ones last a good couple of years and to be fair im more than happy if it lasts 2-3 years then breaks.

Not a chance, My CF-45 was £100 on ebay. I have had it 2 years now.

CF 35 will do for a normal job unless you are taking the wife and three kids away

CF 50DZ for me.

£650, cost more than the one in my kitchen! But does have a freezer compartment, and never gets switched off 12v 24v or 240v.

Money well spent, especially for the ice cream in the summer.

I spent £170 on a three way, gas/240v/12v fridge for my camper van last year and it’s great. Waeco too and keeps everything ice cold no matter the outside temp. Well worth the money

I’ve got the tropicool 35 12/24/240v model. It don’t freeze but it does me for a week at a time and i can take frozen stuff and eat it 2 or 3 day later (Curries, kebabs etc). The only problem i find is that it draws in the air with it’s moisture and the inside can get wet at the bottom so i sit the contents on a bit of plastic grille stuff like you have in the bottom of a sink.
